Who Moved My Bacon? Class Changes Through Rose-Colored Goggles

Ah class changes. Every Porker worth his level 80 main feels a twinge of dread when Ghostcrawler and his blue posse begins announcing the "exciting improvements" for our beloved classes.

Change is scary for good reason--there will always be relative nerfs. We're all competing for raid spots or battleground honor kills so even though each class gets shiny new abilities, there will always be the stinky spec. And everyone's afraid it'll be their turn to scrape the bottom of the performance barrel.

But here at the Pig HQ we don't like to get our blood pressure too high by worrying or whining. We faced the class changes instead with a FTW attitude. Call us brainwashed by those zen-like mice but here's our take on why each class will rock our socks off come Cataclysm.

Death Knight
Necrotic Strike returns from the depths of the PTR to strike fear in the hearts of all healers. I also expect death knights to shed their reputation as mindless battleground newbs with the new baseline spell Dark Simulacrum. The spell will force all death knights to study the abilities of other classes--a learned advantage l33ts take pride of.

Druid
I lament the death of the perma-tree form, but at least druid tanks will now break free from their Swipe spam stupor. Stampeding Roar is also one of the most OP abilities I can think of for Warsong Gulch so expect druid-centric pre-mades camping that particular battleground.

Hunter
Now this class will become the adventurer-of-all-trades. Their new active pet switching system is so efficient for leveling, and will make them ultra viable for any raid composition. The switch to energy also looks promising because of giveback abilities that refresh the resource on hit (i.e. no more mana burn deaths).

Mage
The closest thing to a PvP God class. As if their frost spec didn't rule enough in battlegrounds, Blizz added the damned if you cross, damned if you don't Wall of Fog. The old school nod to Diablo 2 with the flame version of the Frozen Orb also puts the Mage class on top of my must-have alts in Cataclysm.

Shaman
Healing Rain and Spiritwalker's Grace more than make up for the loss of the iconic Cleansing Totem in line with the dispel mechanics changes. The resto shaman mastery is also one of the more powerful among healing specs due to higher health pools in Cataclysm and hints from Blizzard that raid encounters will require careful triage.

Paladin
Awesome screenshots with our new level 85 guardian angels! LOL. But seriously, these cooldown "pets" should give paladins another layer of survivability. Ret, the maligned child of yester expansions, also seems to be getting some dev love with the Crusader Strike change. And a new disruption tool via Blinding Shield is wicked good for all three paladin specs.

Priest
Come over here! Priests take a cue from Scorpion with their max level Leap of Faith that pulls allies from the pummeling of their lives (or that easily avoidable fire). The Discipline spec also ramps up its shielding arsenal with Power Shield: Barrier. Just hearing that word is ownage, coming from the tradition of Final Fantasy where barriers are the sickest prevention spells around. Something tells me PS: Barrier will live up to its name.

Rogue
Rogues will no longer reap the hate of all classes. In fact, I expect them to be the best friends of the plate melee classes due to their handy Smoke Bomb. Heck, they'll make HoR a piece of cake (Yeah, yeah we'll overgear that dungeon by that time but you get my point). Discarding the dagger-only skills also broadens the rogue weapon choice exponentially. Double-claw assassins here I come!

Warlock
24 additional slot bags and a chance to blow up that mage within three Soulshard uses. Warlocks are now toting some heavy guns if their DoTs aren't up for the job. The Demon Soul transformation is also the stuff gamer's dreams are made of - becoming one with a Succubus... yum...

Warrior
The next expansion brings an ultra macho move to the Warriors with a stun-causing Heroic Leap. The promise of reduced rage costs across the board also bodes well against rage starvation that happens more often than it should. A couple of bleed and passive damage talents round out the changes.

Phew, that took the wind out of me. In fact I'm getting dizzy wearing these rose-colored goggles while reading walls of blue text. So before I lose strength and go into /grumpy mode like a starved QQer, I'm heading to Taco Bell for some grub. Adios amigos!

Pony Up!

Even after three days following its staggeringly overhyped debut, the Celestial Steed mount is still high on everyone’s radar. Actually…make that GAYdar.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against unicorns or ponies or anything of the equine sort (dude, I actually liked the Sex and the City movie…heehee) and constellations and sprinkles and pancakes. And all those other things that happiness is made of.

BUT―and this is a big one, mind you―the newest flying mount is nothing but a bejeweled baby beast. And it’ll cost ya 25 bucks. Sure it’s pretty but man, we’re talking TWENTY-FIVE REAL WORLD DOLLARS.

DUDE, SRSLY. Riding that fancy horse is roughly the equivalent of riding a pink Audi TT IRL.

Big pimpin eh?

Just so you know, I’m not as outraged as some people are about this whole thing. In fact, I think Blizzard’s move is sheer genius. I would probably have thought of it myself if I worked for them but I don’t so I have to live with that.

I just wish they thought of us porkers too when they made the mount. I personally can never buy this My Little Pony (Superstar Fairy Edition) because it would look stupid and miniscule carrying my brawny, beefy toons. Next time, tone down the pizzazz and make it look kick-ass.

But I have to give credit where credit is due. Considering all the hoopla and the ridiculous amount of sales it has generated for Blizzard, the steed’s quite the stud.

WoW VS GFs Can Be Funny

There comes a time in every pig's life where he is forced to make a difficult decision, one completely life-changing there is no chance of turning back.

Well okay so maybe there is…occasionally. But often times, it’s too late bro. I’m talking about choosing between Warcraft and your girl.

I never got to that stage where she’s throwin’ out my stuff and all so it’s cool. But I’m very much a single guy now so I guess I’ll do better next time to avoid that at all costs. Yes, ladies. This guy’s officially back on the market!

Called it quits with that hottie I’ve been dating on and off for 3 months. No, she didn’t go all psychobitchy on me (whew!), precisely because she didn’t have enough reason to.

Can't say the same for the lame ass dude in this vid though:

I admit. I have had a lot to drink. Nah, I'm laying off the alcohol for now. It’s this Mana energy potion drink I’ve always wanted to try but never got around to buying.

The drink claims to give you +160 mana boost, 5-8 hours of nonstop energy MINUS the crash. Woot!

Actually, I’m not too sold on the citrusy taste but the bottle is just damn epic, I really don’t mind taking a swig from it more often than I should.

A Guide to Naughtygarden

This will be a (slightly) PG-rated post so kiddies who've yet to hear the birds and the bees lesson from their dads should stop reading now.

...Still here? Fine, you stubborn piglets can stay but let's keep this post our little secret, like when you snag those extra strips of bacon even when Mom says you've had enough. It's a yummy kind of naughty.

A little bit of a background. My guild is trying out a Naughtygarden version Noblegarden this year because most of us have already finished the Noble Gardener meta-achievement. We felt bad skipping all those delicious chocolate eggs and sexy bunny ears so we cooked up our own Naughtygarden holiday.

Basically, we are putting a twist on the old Noblegarden achievements and documenting them for the rest of the guildies to see (a private forums or blog will do the trick). Set prizes if your guild can afford them--it's been a blast so far!

Here are some Naughtygarden variations we're doing this week:

Blushing Brides. We log in a female toon and dress her up in a White Tuxedo Shirt and Black Tuxedo Pants, then kiss the Elegant Dressed girls waiting for their prince charming. We then ask the blonde belf if she'll take "Princess Charming" instead. Be prepared for RL blushes or even serious propositions.

Spring Fling Scandal. This one's a doozie. The regular spring fling achievement asks you to find a mate for your rabbit across the four starter towns. But here's where the scandal breaks out. Seems like your pet rabbit isn't being truthful about his single status--he's actually got a wife and kids at home!

My guildmates and I try to write the most persuasive blackmail letter addressed to Mr. cheating rabbit. My last letter read:

"Looks like your rabbit's foot ran out, Roger. Cough up the golden eggs or I'll send these pics to the missus. She'll skin and stew you alive."

Follow the Bunny-Maker. Ok, some of you might find this more creepy than naughty, but c'mon. When else can you stalk a legal-leveled belf hottie wearing those smexy bunny ears? If you're lucky, once you pop the Spring Flowers, the belf will play along and channel her inner model. Those bunny ears can sure make a girl special, I tell ya!

It's That Time of the Year Again

I’m through with WoW. What's the point when you win Wintergrasp all day? So I’m looking for a suitable heir willing to take all the Gold in my account—all 215,000 of it!

In today’s economy, that amount of Gold can buy at least 20 pieces of epic crafted ilvl 264 gear. It can even push a main and an alt to ICC-readiness.

But I don't believe in hand-outs, dudes, so those who want a crack at my Gold will have to work very hard for it. And I’m not just talking about Halls of Reflection heroic hard. I’m talking “take down that frakkin’ Kraken with your bare teeth” hard. (Been watching too much Clash of the Titans trailers for sure).

Just complete the three tasks below to get the sweet sweet bacon. But before I describe each, lemme lay out some ground rules.

Ground rules
1. Get a screen shot when each task is done to the detail.
2. Don’t even think about using Photoshop because we have a bull detector.
3. Post all three screenshots at the comments section of this post.
4. Deadline is one week from the date of this posting.
5. You have to receive all 215,000 Gold in one account or we send the prize to the next eligible winner.

OK, now onto the real heroics:

Task 1: Fly Invincible 40 yards above the tallest building of any faction capital.
It might be hard to get Arthas’ whipping horse, but then again don't you have extra help already with ICC buffs now raised to 10%.

A certain Paragon over the Atlantic has been parading Invincible in Orgrimmar, so it’s not THAT impossible.

Task 2: Smashin' poledancin'
So you’ve managed to tame one of the most elite mounts in game. That’s some skill you have there. Now this second task will test your dexterity and anatomy knowledge.

While completely smashed, stand on a lamppost and /dance. Sounds easy enough right? Well it gets trickier since you must capture a particular pose close to my heart—I won’t spoil the race that does it since it’s easy enough to make a level 1 alt on both sides—but here's the money shot I'm looking for:

Task 3: Smokey Battleground Shout Outs
You've proven yourself a fine raider and tasteful photographer, what can I say, so you’re 2/3 of the way to being worthy of my Gold. But here’s the toughest challenge yet--and I drew this up from my love of Arathi Basin.

Get some white smoke flares and create an overhead message at the Blacksmith node that says: “The PIG pawns at battlegrounds." Spell the message out in capital letters and /say "oink" at the middle. Here's a simple example:

You need a lot of WoW skills to pull off this third task. Master the art of making friends so they can help lay out the flares and clear out the opposing trash who want to ruin your shot. You'll also have to level up engineering to produce tons of flares or play the auction house to get 'em cheap.

So there you have it. Three tasks for 215,000 Gold. Not bad at all if you need a nest egg for Cataclysm. Just don't be a fool--ask for advice in trade.

Battle of the Bacon (and the Bulge)

I don’t know about you porkers but when it comes to patch 3.3.3., I am not a happy camper. Since downloading it, I’ve encountered issues with bugs, add-on screw-ups, getting DC’ed in 25-mans (and sometimes even 10-mans, ffs). So yeah, like I said. Happy isn’t the best word to describe me right now. Maybe hopeful. Actually, make that hungry.

When I’m stressed, I eat. That’s just the way it’s always been for me, dude. Some people go by the saying “Eat to live, not live to eat” but I say SCREW THAT.

Since last week, I’ve been driving by Wendy’s on the way home, successfully getting my burger fix after a long day at work and before a presumably stressful raid. I’ve made it my goal to sample every single menu item that’s been graced by the presence of bacon. I’m on to you, other fast food restaurants.

Now don’t think all that grease went to waste. In fact, all that gorging has lead me to create WoW Gold Pig’s first ever food face-off. LET’S GET READY TO RUMBAAAAAALLLL!!!

Now let’s see how these babies score on WoW Gold Pig’s ~~made up~~ official criteria:

Mess Maker Master: Bacon and Blue. It’s mainly the blue cheese crumbles. Not advisable to eat on the car or the couch, unless you have a thing for munching on food that’s been preserved in the depths of old leather furniture
Machismo Appeal: The Baconator, hands down. With its exclusion of veggies, it is unapologetically badass. And yes, it’ll be back.
Resistance to Dog Attack: Bacon and Blue. Nothing fancy for my carnivore canine, who likes eating the same things. Like his poop. There’s no way I can eat my Baconator in peace when the tailchaser’s around.
Stomach Friendliness: Baconator for this one. Though I’ve never had issues after eating the Bacon and Blue, with far more ingredients it might not mix well with other foods in the future.

Buzzing on BlizzCon

Blizzard finally released the dates for BlizzCon 2010! October 22 and 23, porkers. Make sure to save the date!

I’ve been holding my breath for far too long and that says a lot for someone who hardly even stops to breathe when he eats, which is every twenty minutes, give or take.

Not much details yet on the two-day event as of late but then again, I’m not really a details kind of guy. I lean more towards the VISUALS. And I guess that makes me…a guy’s guy. Y’all know what I’m sayin’.

Patch 3.3.3 and The Unbearable Heaviness of Being

Part inspirational vid, part cautionary tale. There's a mad surfing season coming up and my tummy's not cooperating AT ALL--just keeps growling like a black lion in heat.

And because there's always a BBQ here at the HQ, there's no way to break free from the Fat Man that's possessed me. I have more luck escaping from the Lich King.

You know the jiggles up (pardon the pun) when girls avert their eyes down to your belly the moment you turn. Grab them a glass of water. *STARE* Open them the car door. *STARE*

The belly monster has to go so I've scheduled some heavy riding sessions with my board soon. Well, just after I finish testing Patch 3.3.3, the latest update that made war mounts cost 50,000 honor.

It's been out for a couple of days now and gave a mixed bag of wins and fails. We know the full patch notes can be a snooze-fest, so we'll dish out our preliminary, biased assessments:

Buffs and Nerfs
- Death knight frost tanks got a boost. Could reverse their bad rep in heroic PuGs, but will be offset in battlegrounds where their upgraded talents are already annoying me more than usual.
- The population of Frostfire mages might rise by 0.001% due to patch buffs, while subtlety rogues can be less shy about their Recount digits.

Battlegrounds
- Marks of honor are now useless, so turn them in for honor at your local Brigadier-General. Only traded half of it before I got sick of the click grind. But bought new Relentless shoulders for my prot/ret pally so it's all even.
- New random battlegrounds finder put me in three straight Strands of the Ancients--more play than what I saw in the past month! Had a blast but will transfer to good 'ol Arathi Basin in a heartbeat. Terribly miss the paratrooper dives from the lumber mill node.

Heroics
- Digging the No-Drop policy in Heroics. Players are growing some backbone when landing in harder instances like Halls of Reflection due to longer 30-minute deserter debuff.

Crafting and Trading
- Frozo the Renowned is now in business. Don't mind the line because he sells some pretty useful stuff. Just beware of dang Mammoths blocking the engineering auction/trade shop.
- Auction House multi-stack selling! $weet for sellers, but utter torture for buyers. Imagine browsing 20 pages and still seeing 1-piece stacks of saronite ore!

There's a lot more changes, but I'm fairly confident these are the most important bits in the the update. With my sacred duty done, please excuse me porkers as I catch the waves. Vanity is calling. :D

The Tank Twilight Zone

Somewhere, in an Azjol-Nerub instance, a paladin tank and a death knight tank both zoned in for a 5-man heroic. The healer and two DPS scratched their heads and wondered if they were still in Northrend or in a Tank Twilight Zone.

"These spiders don't stand a chance against my holy Consecration, so I should be the tank," said the pally, throwing his Captain America shield at the first group of mobs.

"Pfft. Dude that's weak. Taste my jumongous Death and Decay!" countered the death knight as he gripped a spider, Scorpion-style.

Minutes later, in the fastest run they ever saw, the group stood over the corpse of Anub'arak. The rest of the group said thank you but the two tanks were still yammering in group chat.

"Geez, why'd you taunt the bat away from the healer, I totally had him!" said the death knight.

"LOLZ. Let's talk about fairness when you lose that ghoul army of yours. You don't see me calling the rest of the Argent Crusade as back up," countered the paladin.

You porkers know the drill. Put two tanks together and they can't help but argue who's the best at AoE tanking, single-target tanking, effective health, moving threat generation, etc.

For those hoping these pissing contests will end by Cataclysm--better luck next expansion. Seems Blizzard wants to keep the tank trash talk alive if only to keep them all raid viable.

"... [W]e don't think well-defined tank niches are very good for the game. We've even backed off of well-defined healing niches and we'll continue to do so even more in Cataclysm," according to a blue post from Ghostcrawler.

Ghostcrawler explained that tank specialization can pigeonhole each class into certain types of dungeons. Imagine as a pally tank to only be wanted for Culling of Stratholme --won't that be a bummer?
Instead, Blizzard seems to be focusing on differentiating each tank on their talents and abilities. This can be seen in the new thread from Blizzard poster Nethaera, which asks for feedback on h ow tanking cooldowns can be made "f un and useful" for Cataclysm.

WoW Celeb Chicks: A Welcome Distraction

First, let’s get down to the root of this post. It’s late Friday afternoon and I’ve been pacing back and forth my room for the past couple of minutes, phone in hand, anxiety at an all-time high. Also, I’m trying to break in the new shoes I got specifically for the date which may or may not happen tonight.

I’ve been subtly trying to convert this girl to play WoW for more than a month now.
And boy, did I struggle. Long story short, she thinks that it might be a problem down the road that I’m a gamer and she’s not. Well, she may have worded it far more eloquently but that’s the gist, dude.

So anyway, now I’ve been itching like mad to ~~drunk~~ dial her number but that would mean going against the agreement I sorta made. Sorta because I only half-nodded, a few seconds too late to even process what she meant when she made this parting statement to me last Saturday, “Don’t call me. I’ll call you.”

The things I could get away with if I were this cat...

WTF was that all about? One minute, I thought I had her perfectly wrapped around my finger and then the next, I feel like I’m back in the sixth grade when Crystal broke it off with me the day before homecoming because my glasses were "unusually large" for my face.

So, I really don’t want this to be a party pooper post. Whether she calls or she doesn’t, I’ll just have to deal. And what better way to distract myself than to scout for the hottest WoW celebrity chicks? They might give me the time of day, you never know.

5. Cameron Diaz
We have A-list actress and my favorite blonde cougar kicking off the list. There’s a nugget of info floating around the web―a quote from her that reads, “Hi guys! Cameron Diaz here, just letting you know that I indeed play WoW! I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE LOL my name is Hippopotamus and I play on Detheroc!”

Now that makes me one hungry hungry hippo!

4. Adrianne Curry
Mmm, I loves me some curry. Okay, I don’t really know much of her but she looks familiar enough so that counts, right? And she loves playing WoW…in the buff.

No doubt about it, this curry brings a whole new level of spice.

Yeah, bro. Geeks come in this package too.

3. Eliza Dushku
Ever since I saw this badass chick in Bring It On (dude, cheerleaders + carwash + catfights = my kind of chick flick), I thought, “That’s one girl I wouldn’t mind kicking my ass over and over again.”

A newcomer to the game, she tweeted about creating a new character and asking whether she should go Alliance or Horde. Hey hun, whatever you choose, I’ll help you lvl.

2. Mila Kunis
I’d forever think of her as Jackie in That 70s Show, at the time when she was this really hot underaged actress IRL. I have no shame saying that because back then, I was too―underaged, I mean.

Having watched this exotic, pint-sized beauty on the Jimmy Kimmel Show in full-on geek mode going on about raids and guilds and being a kickass mage, I was instantly blown away. Babe knows her stuff.

1. Felicia Day
Surely, it’s no surprise the ginge takes the cake. Fel, as I so affectionately call her (in my head, of course) is the geek goddess herself. As writer, producer and star of online comedy show The Guild, this alluring readhead has captured the hearts of fanboys and fangirls everywhere. So Fel , how ‘bout we skip me dating your avatar and cut to the chase?

She also has a comic series in the works (a print version of The Guild) so I'll definitely keep an eye on that one.

Here at The Pig, we’ve been super pumped by all the juicy bits Blizzard shared on the Cataclysm expansion in its latest developer Twitter cha t.

Class balances, graphics updates and gear mechanics were all discussed. But one thing we noticed was how owning tons of Gold can make Cataclysm a bit more bearable. Below are must-buy conveniences for three types of porkers:

Battlegrounds Rations (For PvP Boars)
Brush off those flag capping and tower defending skills! You’ll need it when the new Battle for Gilneas City battleground opens. While exact mechanics are still up in the air, it’s known that the Alliance and Horde will fight over the districts of Gilneas City.

Cataclysm also ushers in rated battlegrounds, which will up the ante for cross-server teamwork. Last longer with the aid of flasks and other food buffs. Potions also cost WoW Gold a pop, but timed well it can save you a trip from the graveyard.

Splurge on these consumables because random battlegrounds will also yield arena points soon. You mean we’ll get the latest Gladiator armor set through battlegrounds? Heck yeah!

Bigger Bags (For Loot Hogs)
While PvP boars get their snouts dirty in the battlegrounds, loot hogs will head to the World’s End Tavern to buy bigger all-purpose bags from socialite Haris Pilton.

Blizzard did not specify though whether the new bags will have 26 slots or more. The 24-slot Portable Hole is the biggest all-purpose bag in game today and costs 3,000 WoW Gold each. If you’re a rabid loot pig like the peeps in Hoarders, then better stock up on WoW Gold now to cover the high cost.

Extra bag space is king and stores more epic gear, holiday items and even flirty letters from hot draenei chicks. Especially the flirty letters. Gotta keep those no matter what!

Submarine Trips (For Casual Hams)
This one’s for the casual hams who like to ride the Ironforge tram for its undersea view.

Blizzard announced that gnomes and goblins have built submarines the size of the Icecrown gunships, which will transport players to submerged regions accessible in Cataclysm.

We think there will be a cool viewing deck to observe the aquatic life below the Great Sea. That’s what I kept telling myself since last Saturday, the day I missed out on THIS:

Now if you don’t know what that is, you’ll make me even sadder. And fatter. I’ve been binge-eating myself throughout this coping process with inhuman amounts of my all-time favorite cured meat.

It’s the only way I can think of to compensate for my missing the annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival in Iowa this year. More than 1000 pounds of bacon were prepared, highlights of which were the chocolate chunk bacon cookies and the obligatory bacon-eating contest, for 2010’s “A Bacon Odyssey – One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Bacon.”

Even the title tears me up. I would’ve walked a thousand steps just to be where the party’s at! No, further! Yeah bacon, ‘cause you know I’d walk a thousand miles if I could just see you…

But alas, the tickets sold out on me. Tried entering the contests to win free tickets but no luck with that either.

I’m way bummed that I didn’t get to be part of the whole bacon explosion. I really am. I would have distracted myself with WoW but TBH, I’m too bloated to even function.

Now, excuse me while I help (help? no, not really) myself to another bacon cheese turtleburger.

In A Rush For The Plush

THEY’RE HEEEERE!!!

I just checked the Blizz store and got good news. The Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling have now broken out of their shells, ready to fly and land straight to your doorstep.

Now the Warcraft Plush Pets, the first in a new series of “cuddly, crafty critters”, have been announced a few weeks back. I’m not the biggest fan of stuffed animals, especially now that I’ve manned up and developed a six-pack (not entirely true ATM but I’m getting there), though I have to admit that these adorable playthings―yes, I did in fact use the word playthings―tug at my bacon-smothered heartstrings.

Come to Papi!

I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time now, actually. See, the Pandaren Monk (the one that helped raise up to $1.1M in sales and made wishes come true…woot!) already costs 10 bucks a piece so it goes without saying that these Plushies would cost a pretty penny. And I was right. They officially went on sale yesterday and are $24.99 each to be exact.

The age-old Shakespearean-esque question remains: To buy or not to buy?

Dammit, they’re available for a limited time only so I gotta think fast! I believe the pros outweigh the cons though. The best part of this purchase is the bonus in-game pet code. The thought of not flying by my lonesome in Azeroth gets me stoked, dude!

Also, you can adopt either pet in-game regardless of your faction which is great but also kinda irrelevant as I play both Alliance and Horde. Don’t hate.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt to add to my collection of toys for the big boys. If that doesn’t work, I could always give the plush away to my ~~niece~~ current squeeze as a “just because” type of gift. Yeah, chicks dig that stuff.

Or not. I could invite her over at my place to hang out, carefully misplace the furry little gem somewhere she’d instantly see and then ever so casually tell her that she can take it home. Even better man! Geeky, yes. But I still score points for the cute factor.

In any case, I am saving up.

Titansteel with My Cereal, Yum!

Ah Blizzard, why must you spoil us like those prized pigs at the fair?

We’re still digesting all the sweet goodness from the random dungeon tool. Now, you bring a patch update that makes it even easier for us to own epic gear and a Mechano-hog mount? Yep, we've died and gone to epic heaven.

How does Patch 3.3.3 do this exactly, you porkers ask? Well the patch notes show the removal of the 20-hour smelting cooldown for titansteel bar. This means miners can now churn out an unlimited number of titansteel bars, one of the main reagents for crafting the Mechano-hog, Jeeves and dozens of other amazing purple items.

Our advice is to save up on WoW Gold (or get a little help from the Pig if you’re a bit short on coin) and wait for the patch to go live. By then, you can purchase the once-rare titansteel in stacks and have enough to tip a master engineer or blacksmith.

If you’re a blacksmith who mines his own ores, abolishing the titansteel cooldown will bring even bigger bucks to your profession. We suggest saving a nice spot at a Dalaran forge because you’ll soon be cranking out Boots of Kingly Upheaval like never before.

There’s always a supply of freshly minted 80’s who like to get geared fast for heroics so take the time to cash in on your profession. Or just use it to become that popular guy who helps guildies gear up for their weekly raid runs.

Chicks dig guys who provide--it’s just how human nature works--so fire up that furnace and hammer away all that welfare titansteel!

Burning Rubber for the Old Timers

Whenever I ride through the old world towns in my Mekgineer’s Chopper, lowbies always ask me: "Is that sweet ride worth it?"

Yes, it cost me an insane amount of WoW Gold. and buying it devastated my bank alt ("What about the children?!"). But the Chopper is, hands down, the coolest mount in the game. Far cooler than the Big Love rocket no doubt. It's the e-p33n equivalent of a Harley Davidson with a crap ton of in-game use.

Take the ongoing Lunar Festival, for example. I can’t imagine completing the meta achievement To Honor One’s Elders without my Mek-daddy. Nothing beats warming up that motor, inviting a buddy along, and just visiting those elders as fast as possible.

My buddy who tagged along also had a dual screen PC so he googled the most efficient travel routes for us. The passenger seat of the Chopper also made sure I had fun company on the road. Prepare for a snooze-fest if you plan on visiting the 70+ elders alone.

It's also useful to have a pal around when raiding the Horde capitals for their elders. His dwarf pally stirred up some trouble in Orgrimmar until every trigger happy mage blasted him with a fireball. Meanwhile, I sneaked off to talk to Elder Darkhorn before happily switching roles as a Horde training dummy.

With my trusty Chopper, we collected all the Coins of Ancestry in a day, and one step closer to the mother of all rides: the Violet Proto-Drake. 310% flying speed will be golden when Cataclysm arrives complete with the new zones like Grim Batol near Uldaman.

If you've never been to Grim Batol, porkers, take the Chopper for a spin there after finishing the holiday achievement. The dragons are hiding something big behind those doors so try getting a peek inside--Elune knows I've tried!

How Fast Food Made My Valentine’s Special

Dude no, that is disgusting. I did not spend the night playing with the McDonalds’ Happy Meal Barbie doll I got from eBay last week. That’s for my niece’s birthday! Which is…7 months from now but uhh, I like buying gifts in advance so sue me.

Anyway, it’s true. Valentine’s Day was no longer S.A.D. (FYI, that’s Single Awareness Day) because I had an amazing date yesterday, so amazing that it didn’t leave me broke. And I actually impressed the girl (from the epic first date last month, remember?) by treating her to fast food! Not only that, we just ate in! How am I so sure she’s impressed? She asked ME if I had plans for next week and gave me the look after the 10-second goodnight kiss. Unreal, bro.

Okay, so I know you must be racking your brains, figuring out how I managed to knock a girl off her feet with greasy fare in my humble abode. But don’t worry, I’ll let you in on my secret in a little bit.

See, at first I was thinking about taking her out to dinner and a movie but then I realized that’s what everyone else is doing. WTB originality. So instead of making dinner reservations somewhere swanky and with menu items I’d have to rely on my amateurish tongue-acrobatics to pronounce, I figured we’ll have a more intimate homemade dinner. Plus, there’s no chance of us running into each other’s exes. How’s that for thoughtful?

The thought may count but dude, it’s the execution that matters in the end.

I’ll be the first to say that while I’m an expert face stuffer, I am in no way close to being the best meal maker. The fanciest dish I’ve probably ever attempted was a poor man’s steak au poivre. “Attempted” being the operative word. Good thing I stumbled upon fancyfastfood.com, transforming daily no-fuss grub to exquisite replicas of chef’s specials.

They’ve made over Wendy’s Baconator Combo to pass for a fancy schmancy Napoleon, BK’s Whooper & Steakhouse Burger into a fancy schmancy Perguignon and Tim Hortons into Tiramisu, among other things. Magicians, these guys.

For our date, I successfully prepared Seared Pollock Cake wit h Southwest Ramalan Sauce, which is nothing but a fancified Mcdonald’s Filet-O-Fish. Of course, she didn't need to know that.

Not the one I made. It looked damn close to this one though.

Now why fast food? Well, if you’re like me, who’s a) just a regular dude and b) strapped for cash, fast food is a savior of sorts. And because c’mon, who doesn’t like fast food? It’s a guilty pleasure, whether you admit to that or not. Funny, I didn’t even feel a tinge of guilt as I watched her pleasure herself with every bite…

Plus, I got her the 36-piece Valentine’s Day Ballotin Godiva set for dessert. You can’t go wrong with chocolate. Unless if she’s allergic or dieting or picky, which is not the case at all so yes, The Bradster scores major points again! Woot!

Later into the night, we toasted to some fancy wine I stole from Pops’ wine rack when I went home during the holidays. Again, she didn’t need to know that.

Last but not the least, I serenaded her with my cover of Stolen by Dashboard Confessional ― complete with guitar in hand. I had to, man. Every guy has to have a signature move and that’s mine.

4 days to go before the big V Day. Yeah, we do countdowns too. Nothing wrong with that. Some might think that we’re getting overly anxious just trying to get past the large stumbling block of getting a date this upcoming Hallmark holiday. But they’d have to think again.

Truthfully, we’re no basement dwellers (I used to be one up until last year but I am not one now anymore and that’s beside the point). The geeky, sweaty, mouth-breathery stereotype of gamers is passé. But them peoples are ignorant, man. They refuse to acknowledge the fact that us pigs got game!

To prove just that, I present you the WoW Gold Pig-approved list of in-game pick-up lines (thank you, internet):

WTB Love: A Porker's Guide to Valentine's Dating

Ah, love is in the air again, porkers.

The streets of Dalaran are littered with rose petals and Pendlefeet begs me to feed him heart candies while I'm banking. It took me awhile to get used to all the pink on-screen, but at least Blizzard gave us gents a chance to redeem our manliness with tools to woo the ladies. Below are some tips on how to buy love--or at least a smooch--with your love tokens:

Suited for the Occasion.
Squeeze into a dinner suit (20 love tokens), splash on some cologne, and get a fresh cut at the barbers before asking out that half-naked draenei gyrating for gold coins. A dashing toon can sweep a girl in need off her bare feet, especially one that looks like he won't scrimp on the finer things in life--like a Gold Eternium Band for when things turn serious.

Give (Na)grand gestures
Assuming you've scored a date, don't screw it up by suggesting a swim in the Stormwind canals. Think big--and, in this case, think Nagrand. It's tops on the list of places being alt-z'ed for screenshots due to its picturesque plains and safari wildlife. Arranging a romantic picnic basket (10 love tokens) there can score major points just for its sheer charm. But if the level zone proves too dangerous for your lowbie love, the log cabins in Elwynn Forest or soft meadows in Mulgore are great alternatives. Just beware of newbie crashers asking for directions.

Sweeten the Deal
Fill up her mailbox with a daily bite of heart candies (2 love tokens for 10 pieces) and box of chocolates (10 tokens for six pieces). Reminder her each day why she's lucky to have you.

Begin with the compliments ("Hot Lips!") and work your way up to stalker possessiveness ("Be Mine!"). The achievements are a nice icing to the seduction cake, so stock up on the desserts. It's not that hard to turn in those charm bracelets for love token currencies, but if you're pressed for time just grab some WoW Gold and purchase them over at the Auction House.

But if after all these, she's still as cold as Sindragosa, then it might be time to give up. Sometimes the battle has been lost long before it's started (see QQ posts on belf hotties shooting me down) so hand those charm bracelets to a more receptive babe. WoW Armory – A Stalker’s BFF

All right, we got a situation (not The Situation, thank God) on our ~~hands~~ hooves. Potentially speaking, at least. Blizzard’s a freakin’ enabler for stalkers these days, man.

First, they update the WoW Armory. The one with the 3D character models? Yeah, that’s pretty sweet.

It also came with the character and calendar activity feeds, which I’m sure you’re all already familiar with at this point. And now there’s an app that pretty much does the same thing in Facebook too! YAY!!!

*rolls eyes and wolfs down a Snickers bar*

I think they’ve gone overboard with the whole “if you got it, flaunt it” belief thinking that we all want to share our best in-game achievements with everyone. It does nothing but stroke your…Okay, let’s not go there. The main issue here is that of privacy. That’s what it really boils down to. Thanks to timestamps, anyone can follow your toon’s developments in real time, as it displays the exact time and date of when you last played.

Not that I have anything to hide or be ashamed of concerning my stats but then again, I’m not entirely comfortable giving just anyone open access to my gaming habits. I mean, you can’t opt out. That’s the thing, dude. Just recently, my buddy’s ~~parents~~ girlfriend used the timestamps against him as evidence that he lied about working overtime as an excuse to ditch her cousin’s wedding rehearsal on that same Friday his update showed he completed “some dumb achievement.” Needless to say, he got rid of the Facebook app.

You see, this isn’t just about your cover being blown. On a more serious note, people’s accounts are subjected to greater risk. Those without Battle.net Authenticators might just be the ones hit the hardest.

Armed with the latest WoW stalking tool, those pesky hackers could track down your gaming habits just by finding out your character’s name plus server, and go online at times you don't usually play to do their dirty deeds. Like, I don’t know, possibly rolling a new toon on a different server and play your account for bot farming and in the process get caught and suspended with you none the wiser? Yes, my dear pigs, I really do think I’m on to something here. This isn’t me trying to be all Sherlock Holmes-y on you.

So here’s my advice. If you don’t have a Battle.net Authenticator yet, get one! Also, always keep your passwords to yourself. It’s all about taking precautionary measures.

Now, what else should we prepare ourselves for? Hmm, I think I’ve got it all covered. Oh yeah ― SPAM. Those WoW Armory feeds can spam like nobody’s business. I only like my spam canned (and subsequently diced to put in my mac and cheese or toasted to pure perfection), TYVM.

Phat Gear in Patch 3.3.2

Hey, porkers, hope you skipped the lunch buffet because Patch 3.3.2 just served a pile of phat gear for us to chew on.

In this major patch that opens up the Frostwing Halls, we get to save a green dragon from being a Scourge lab rat and kill an undead wyrm who likes to eat heroes frosted. Clearing both encounters unlocks the path to the Frozen Throne room where, if spoilers are to be trusted, hero NPCs like Sylvanas and Jaina will help in the final battle against Arthas.

Within a couple of days, top guilds have attempted to down the Lich King but only a select few succeeded such as Blood Legion (10-man world first kill) and ~~Ensidia~~ Paragon (legit 25-man normal world first kill). The biggest incentive for these leet groups aside from the bragging rights are the drool-worthy loot drops listed here and here. I don't know about you dudes, but I'd pay WoW Gold to get a glimpse of those heroic 25-man weapons with their awesome stats and loregasm quotes.

For the PvP hogs out there, the coveted items will be the new armor sets for the Season 8 Arena.

I'd rock the paladin set (shown above) in a heartbeat but something tells I should donate the helmet to the Deadmines diggers. The rogue set concept also owns because blind assassins are simply badass.

Patch 3.3.2 even made gear-hunting faster for those still working their way up the ilevels. Several nerfs have made the bosses easier in some dungeons (Forge of Souls, Nexus) and sped up the NPC run times in others (Halls of Stone).

So go, pig out on all the emblems. Just remember to stock up on WoW Gold for fish feasts and other vital consumables. Believe me, the well fed buff can make a fail PuG a barely-made-it win.

February Feeding Frenzy!

I know, I know. It still doesn’t top National Pork Month. I don’t think any food holiday ever can. Not on WoW Gold Pig’s list, that’s fo sho. But any cause to ~~let yourself go~~ have fun with food is suficiente bueno for us.

For the whole month of February―gasp, only 28 days!―we will be devoted to snacking EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Definitely not a job for someone who’s had S’mores Pop Tarts for his morning snack, chili dog for on-the-go, Tangy Roasted Corn Fritos for mid-afternoon, cinnamon rolls for pre-dinner and the criminally tempting Everything But The…Ben and Jerry’s to fight the midnight snack attack. Eh so that may seem a little much but dude seriously, where am I supposed to get all my energy? 3 square “barely there” meals just won’t cut it.

So like the gluttonous little oinker that I am, I searched the web for interesting snack ideas. It wasn’t long ‘til I found two WoW-inspired snacks, courtesy of snackordie.com, where games and gastronomical pleasures find true love and live slobbily ever after.

So I found these Hearthstone cinnamon buns first. Yes, here’s to hoping that if I eat this I could teleport myself straight to the kitchen and then back to the couch, kitchen-couch, kitchen-couch…oh joy.

Show off your faction pride with these Horde cupcakes. I could just imagine my stomach growling, “For the Horde!!!” as the cake and icing bits hit the roof of my mouth.

Now if only my favorite WoW desserts could materialize. Mmm…moist, buttercreamy goodness of red velvet cupcake, tarty-starchy mix of the berry pie slice, down home comfort of a deep fried candybar…

Fishing it Forward

Getting free stuff in WoW is pretty neat at the off chance it happens. Like when a warrior decked out in Relentless Gladiators handed my lowbie alt a green upgrade. It was unexpected but appreciated nonetheless since it saved me an auction search or quest run, at the very least.

I see the same level of kindness whenever fish feasts are laid out before me when running PuGs. These marine luaus aren’t cheap in terms of WoW Gold, so it pleases me when a stranger is kind enough to spoil me like a lil piggy. (Well, yeah, a part of me wishes a bacon and eggs buffet was available instead).

When I asked a draenei priest who gave out one without any prodding said she wanted runs to be more pleasant, and told me to try it sometime when I can.

See, aside from giving great buffs, fish feasts also lighten the mood of a PuG run—even when it goes real bad. Just the other day, on normal Utgarde Pinnacle, the group wiped on a trash mob pull. Blames ensued and names called that no mother will ever want to hear, so I thought of laying out the fish feast.

It worked like a charm. Suddenly, the smug rogue was giving tips to the inexperienced death knight, and the tank and healer have stopped taking potshots at each other. When we cleared the dungeon without wiping again, I officially became an advocate of fishing it forward. Call me crazy, but with how some PuGs are acting these days, Blizzard could use a community goodwill trainer in the spitting image of Trevor McKinney played by Haley Joel Osment in the classic movie Pay it Forward.

So if you find yourself flying around Dalaran with nothing better to do, go level up that fishing skill. Then head to Wintergrasp to fish for the mats or just buy wholesale at the AH when prices are low and you have all the WoW Gold to spare.

I promise you’ll get the same fuzzy feeling I get, as if I’m making WoW a better place one plate of fish at a time. Well until Cataclysm arrives and both factions get to slit each other's throats like never before again... *looks at Garrosh and shakes head in disdain*

WoW Mag is Not a Rag

It took them nearly three expansions, but yes porkers, Blizzard has learned enough publishing skill points to craft the first official WoW magazine. And surprise surprise, the launch issue seems like an ilvl 500 collectible.

I've read through the articles, and IMO the subscription price is well worth it if all the quarterly issues are this good! But if you're on a budget and plan to grab some WoW Gold instead, then practice those emotes and /beg for the advance copy of an understanding guildie.

This cover image alone of an injured Arthas during the final face-off at the Frozen Throne is priceless. I'd even hang it up my bedroom wall should I ever snag one of those elusive belfs. It's all the more sweeter in my head imagining the vengeful Sylvanas slinging those painful crit-hits.

The new mag contains all sorts of win content, and for all types of players, too. Casuals get to gush over the pet collection trend (pages 8-13 in the preview), while hardcore raiders will reserve the spoilerish Siege of Icecrown Citadel feature (pages 14-21) for bedside reading after the last encounter of WotLK.

I'm also drooling over the Cataclysm tidbits. Faithful readers know I'm pretty sick of battling through snow and undeath, so looking over new Worgen art is bringing back some of that excitement.

Warning Labels

The last few weeks may be taking its toll on me. It's been nothing but bacon binges (it's mandatory here at WoWGoldPig.com) and clearing the rest of ICC like the Plagueworks and the Crimson Hall. It's quite an unhealthy combination, especially on the raiding side. I even thought up some warning labels that should come with every progression guild invite:

Someone made a parody called “In The Game” and I just thought I’d share. Dude sure has a lot of time in his hands, aside from always sittin’, typin’, talkin’ ‘bout levelin’/in dungeons and battlegrounds/ gankin’, farmin’, nerfin’ and revelin’…Oh, just watch and see for yourselves!

Right there, porkers, might just be the next hit single from Lady Gaga. Strange things happen while reading boss tactics, and this gem of a chorus popped in my head while studying the Crimson Hall run against the vampiric San'layn.

There I was minding my own business in windowed Lagaran mode when guild chat discusses the Vampiric Bite ability of Blood Queen Lana'thel and how sweet it would be to watch an all-girl belf guild wipe after sucking each other's necks dry.

Raid Party Sampler. You'll go mad with one taste from her.

For those too busy to Wiki, Vampiric Bite gives a damage buff to a victim and requires him or her to bite another toon every minute or else succumb to an Uncontrollable Frenzy. I added the obvious that our top DPS should seek out the dangerous buff since they'd maximize its use, especially when most accounts say the fight has a sadistic enrage timer for DPS to beat.

Though, all this planning assumed we can get past the Blood Prince Council:

Return of the Fallen. Undead belfs Keleseth, Valanar and Taldaram will deliver pain with their balls (yeah, just watch the vids).

Now these three could stay dead for all I care, but Arthas likes his undead toys (see: Sylvanas), so whatever. It just bothers me that these belfs have somehow brought out the Twilight fanatics from their cuckoo's nest, calling WoW a douche for riding on the coattails of their beloved vampire franchise.

Hate to break it you girls, but there's just so much double standard surrounding that Edward dude. He's dreamy despite the eyebags, bedhead and basement skin? But avoid us like the plague after an expansion release all-nighter (so we missed one bath)? C'mon, that's just plain cruel.

Ah, Cataclsym, you can't come soon enough. Earthquakes and island life will be such a welcome break from the emo atmosphere in Northrend. Speaking of the cold, anyone else less excited for the Frostwing Halls against Valithria Dreamwalker and Sindragosa?

Wanted: Housing for Hunted Hogs

My bacon-fattened heart took quite a beating when Blizzard tweeted its dim prospects for guild housing in the upcoming Cataclysm expansion and beyond:

Player: Do you still have plans to implement guild housing?
Blizzard: Guild housing isn't a priority. Aside from the huge development involved it gets people out of cities and into these private areas other players can't see. We like cities to feel populated. But I'm not sure anyone expected WoW to be going as strong as it is after five years, so who knows in the future.

This morsel of news saddened me since I've always wanted to create a guild called Safehouse SLOP aka "Safehouse for the Scavenging, Loitering and Overhunted Piggies of Azeroth".

It's a craptastic name I know, but it sums up the main objective: Save the piggies, save the world!

Before the Final Blow. Ever wondered the cruelty of cleaving for porkchops?

While other guilds obsess about world first kills or topping arena seasons, Safehouse SLOP will save our boar brethren from being slaughtered for cheap WoW Gold rewards. Alliance human toons in Elwynn Forest and Redridge Mountains should remember gutting poor Princess and Bellygrub for (gasp) eating farmer crops? Their swine appetite must be evil!

Orcs and trolls starting out in the Barrens, meanwhile, gank the pen-kept pigs like a bunch of squealing target dummies.

But with guild housing in the outskirts of capital cities, Safehouse SLOP can establish an HQ for fund raising and propaganda. My buddies say it's stupid to save virtual boars who respawn anyway after a couple of minutes. I point out though: If there's a movement to save ugly murlocs, surely the pigs deserve some love too.

Extinction Escape? There's no contest who should receive a stay of execution.

WoW may not be convinced that guild housing can serve as a nice counterbalance--and sanity break--to raiding. But I think of the possibilities: private dancing parties, guild "drama" retreats, and wild belf sorority sleepovers... or cheerleading practice (slightly NSFW).

I secretly wish for Aion and Final Fantasy XIV to come out with kick-ass player housing to keep Blizzard on its toes. If I've learned anything playing WoW, it's that players get what they want when there's massive QQing that another game has this or that feature. Surely, angels and elves basking in their own bungalows would bring out the nerdrage soon enough. :P

Another Proof Bacon Rules

Bacon, along with trusty sidekick eggs, does the mind good.

I said bacon AND eggs. DNW bastard offspring.

This traditional breakfast delight isn’t normally at the top of anyone’s healthy food choices list, what with its mouthwatering, euphoria-inducing artery-clogging goodness.

But leave it to them scientists to challenge public perception. Based on their studies, consuming a plateful of bacon and eggs could help boost intelligence…of a pregnant woman’s unborn child.

Apparently, there’s this micronutrient called choline found in these foods that is uhh, supposed to aid in developing memory and recall regions of the brain or something like that. Again, applies to fetuses (feti?) only.

Hey, give it time, and maybe in a few years from now results will show that a daily serving of the classic combo will advance brain activity levels of those from the twenty-something and up set.

Well, there you have it, straight from the pig’s mouth. ~~Breastmilk~~ Bacon is best for babies ~~up to 2 years old~~ still chillin’ in Momma’s womb.

Heck, it’s best for anyone at any age. Err, ok maybe not but c’mon, live a little!

Epic First Date Of The Year

2010’s been pretty kind to me, bro. If you can recall in my very first WoW Gold Pig post, I have mentioned my self-imposed break in the dating department.

But since it’s the start of a new year and a new decade, it’s time The Bradster got his mojo back. Guess who just got home from an epic first date with a smokin’ college senior? Hale yes, dude.

In the words of Cameron James from 10 Things I Hate About You (man, that movie’s a classic), “And I’m back in the game!”

So we met up in the mall earlier today and watched Avatar, what else. Paid for everything―tickets, popcorn, candy and drinks. It’s actually my second time seeing the movie but I didn’t mind. Worth paying twice for the best movie of 2009 and presumably, 2010.

Here, a look behind the scenes:

When the trailer first came out, I did have my reservations.

While I didn’t go as far as saying it’s some dumb, overrated CGI crapfest like some people, I thought it wouldn’t live up to the hype. Yes, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, I’m referring to you.

The 300-million dollar James Cameron motion capture film, however, has been steadily holding on to the top spot for 4 weeks now and has earned over $1 BILLION worldwide. It’s currently just behind Titanic, another James Cameron masterpiece, in the all-time box office champs category. JFC, he’s competing with himself for the top spot. Now that’s just badass.

Kinda like how my date went. I know, not the best word to use but what I meant to say is that it was way more awesome than I expected a first date to be.

One little setback though is that she isn’t as enthusiastic as I am about gaming. So what if she’s never played nor ever heard of World of Warcraft? Or that she initially thought MMO was a derivative of IMO (which IMHO, is actually quite endearing)?

Really, so what? I mean, I could convert her. Not easily, as seems to be the case, but maybe after the second or third date I could get her to play with my toon and do small stuff like picking herbs first or something.

But this can only be done if she says yes to my invitation of spending more quality time over at my pad. And if my boys say yes to moving raid night to Sunday instead.

Hard, but not impossible.

Is It Stanky In Here Or What?

Last week, Blizzard opened the new Plagueworks section of the Icecrown Citadel and boy are the new bosses nasty. The foul trio of Festergut, Rotface and Professor Putricide attack the olfactory with BO-based bombs that have left raids retching, if not wiping, altogether.

The Festergut fight even brought back memories of high school when I sat behind the class slob and his gassy stomach. The horror, oh the horror…

Rotface, meanwhile, is a lesson in proper hygiene. Dump the smaller slimes into one big pile so there’s space for movement. Sounds familiar? That’s because if you replace “slimes” with “clothes”, this is the same housekeeping rule all gamer moms want their children to learn, including me.

(I’ll clean up when you visit, mom, I swear on my WoW Gold!)

And don't get me started on Professor Putricide. Slime, gas, and abominations everywhere!

Nose-off

All the pre-raid talk on odor abilities led our group to a hilarious debate on which of the race-class combo can tank Plagueworks the longest without fainting.

My hombres get into this role-playing vibe sometimes (as seen in our latest Winter Veil exploits), so it wasn’t surprising we ended up taking sides between an undead warrior and a gnome death knight for best Plagueworks tank.

Some argued that an undead warrior grew up to the smell of graveyards and wears rotting flesh cologne, so the noxious gases should pose no threat. His emergency abilities of Shockwave and Whirlwind also give some breathing space when things literally get too stuffy.

For a gnome death knight, the approach is a little different: smell avoidance. As one friend put it, “During a fire the smoke rises but oxygen stays at the bottom of the room. So a gnome death knight can easily sniff the fresh air below!” Death knights will likely have improved resilience against nasty spells as well because of similar runic abilities like Plague Strike and Pestilence.

The debate raged for a good half hour or so. But I decided to make things a little wackier. “What about a Pig paladin?”

Tank, Pig, Tank!

A Pig paladin would have the quintessential Bubble-cum-oxygen tank and Purify spell for cleansing diseases. The enlarged snout racial passive also gives bonus resistance against strangulation effects.

Move over Belfs! There's so much of these wispy-haired paladins running around. Time to consecrate some Pigs into the order, I say.

Most of the group agreed that a Pig paladin might just beat out the other two contenders, with the proper spec and gear. But most already had enough in their hands reconciling how cows can become paladins when Cataclysm hits this year, so a pig paladin tank might be plausible only in WoW 2.0 (along with the Pandas and Nagas).

So how have you been preparing for Plagueworks, porkers? Searching through giant poop in Azshara and Hellfire Peninsula to psyche yourself up? Or have you been practicing the inoculation dance? Drop your two Golds in the matter. :D

Getting The Hollywood Treatment

Sometimes, I wish I were cute and cuddly. Hey, a man’s gotta come clean.

At this particular time when the temperature drops to negative God-knows-what and the outdoors transforms to effin Dun Morogh, sometimes means now. And right now, all I want is to be a fun-sized pork chop.

This isn’t right bro. How come Miss Piglette gets to be all cozy with the socialite heiress and not me? We love us some good ole canoodlin’ too!

Now don’t let their size fool ya. These micro-pigs are making it big in the hills. Victoria Beckham and that carrottop kid from Harry Potter were reportedly two of the first celebrities who snagged these mini-pets.

They’re clean, friendly, compact, smart, adorable…see? No catch. OH WAIT. Brb, I need to double check something…

£700. That’s how much each miniature porker costs (roughly around a shitload of dollars. Do the math). WTF dude. No hard feelings though. Us here at WoW Gold Pig salute you, Micros Pigus, for upping the pig’s status and representing us well. Umm, sort of.

On a side note…As far as non-combat pets go, I think these itsy-bitsy little bacon buddies have what it takes to be a hit. That said, Blizzard should take a cue from Hollywood and start breedin’ these babies.

Love Babes and The Hangover Dilemma

What do you get when you mix Booty, booze, babes and a whole lot of bang?

The best New Year's shindig this side of the Eastern Kingdoms, no doubt.

I visited Old World Azeroth several days ago to count down the minutes to 2010, and Booty Bay seemed like ground zero after a frat house soiree. The goblin bruiser guards were face smashed and dinged with zzz's--even while fireworks were blowing up the skies of Stranglethorn Vale.

Down for the Countdown. Will they wake up in time for their kin's Cataclysm debut? [Hat tip]

After watching the pyrotechnics show and making explosions of our own (care of an Engineer pal who busted open his stocks of green fireworks), we hearthed back to Stormwind for a celebratory toast.

Blizzard was kind enough to send giant barrels of fine bubbly, complete with festive mugs to down the spirits with. The posse decided to hang out at the trade district for awhile. The RL stories of eating and boozing in the main channel were too good to pass up--from leftover eggnog shots to Johnnie W's on the rocks. (Psst, the Pig still says to drink responsibly and never to drive drunk IRL, okay?)

From Stormwind we raced to Ironforge on foot via the Deeprun Tram tunnels. Now that was fun, noticing the underground aquarium for the first time! We then settled in Stonefire Tavern for a private afterparty (Tauren bouncer included, shockers!) to sample the fine liquor its barmaid had to offer.

The Brewer of Our Discontent. Barmaid Gwenna Firebrew serves better buzz than a sap-happy rouge. [Hat tip]

A jug of bourbon. A flagon of mead. A flask of port. A bottle of Pinot Noir. All that good stuff sent us straight to fuzzy screen land.

Someone suggested we then walk the bridge ledges connecting the Commons to the Auction House. Fall down and you'll pony up the next round of drinks--roughly 5 gold. I forget who lost or how long we spent there, only that we ended up /love-ing each other and the winter boars outside Ironforge.

Yes, we've locked the screenshots away and fed the key to Hogger. We decided against deleting, though, because of a possible The Hangover dilemma.

And the babes, you ask? Well the snouted kind seemed more willing to hang with us. The nubile belf-y kind were either aggroing or running in the other direction. Pfft, so what else is new.

Like Piggy In Her Hands

She sure played me, dudes. A beautiful blood elf if there ever was one, hanging around Mulgore in her Winter Garb knickers. She of pale skin and green eyes whispered small talk while I rummaged through my bank stash at the Lower Rise.

All I was looking for was a hand-me-down for a new alt. But I got a charming belf instead interested enough to ask about my holiday plans.

I told her the battleplan: raid ICC, level my prot pally, and spar with some twinked toons along the way. Basically long, uninterrupted stretches of gaming in my room (which I hope to turn into a WoW Pod someday). But I left out the part about eating spiced sausages with the intensity of a first-time Naxx run. Didn't want to seem like a total pig...

"Seems like a lot of fun," she said. "Me, I'll be farming herbs to help my lil bro out grind gold." A few minutes later I was sending her gold coins with a :D-filled letter attachment. The moment she turned her pretty head of golden locks, I realized I had been like piggy in her hands--a fat piggy bank, that is. Break open with a sob story and get free WoW gold.

So my advice is not to get too carried away with the spirit of Winter Veil. Just aid a questing lowbie or resist pwning a battlegrounds virgin. And most importantly, keep your head level when these lovely ladies talk to you.

Yes, that is our holiday of choice for this year and not just because it lasts for twenty days (twelve days of Christmas and eight for Hannukah baby) and each day is marked by highly indulgent acts of receiving gifts and stuffing your face full. No, no, NO.

Now let's all pretend that was not a flat-out lie so we can move on to this masterpiece of a holiday card. One word: BACON. Mmm...

You may not be able to see it clearly but the card reads, "May your holidays be wrapped in goodness."

Now correct me if I'm wrong but goodness is really just a euphemism for sugar and fat. Am I right or am I right? Yeah, that's what this season does to ya.

How Christmas Carols Should Be Done

So, I’m a guy and I find nothing wrong with liking Christmas carols. Those carolers are everywhere, man! And you know what they say, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

Fine, NGL. I genuinely like carols. That can be attributed to the fact―yes, fact―that I’m quite the modern-day troubadour. Girls don’t have to fall over themselves trying to get me to bust it out (boy, they do anyway) because I’d willingly serenade them. Something like, A little bit of Jaina in my life, a little bit of Alexstrasza by my side, a little bit of Sylvanas’ what I need…

Pffft. My biceps got more talent than whoever wrote/sang/wasted brain cells to think of that crap.

What’s definitely far from crap, on the other hand, is anything sung by The Guild. This precious little clip I’m about to show is from a few years back but it’ll never get old. Mainly because of Felicia Day. God, I just love this girl. Cutest real-life redhead chick ever. So cute, I wanna wrap her in a blanket and take her home with me.

The Next Best Pig Out

Christmas Eve is just several days away, but can't you just smell it--the slow-roasting ham, buttered taters, and choco chip cookies. *Wipes drool off keyboard*

I'm at the parental units--AKA the land of pigging out--and unlike Leonard, mama's taking good care of her baby boy with her cured meats. But for some of you porkers, stuffing one's face silly isn't really an option.

Especially when the gf has threatened to turn Alliance if you even look at the buffet table. So here's how to play WoW while staving off the overeating banhammer in real life.

First off, run through Dalaran to grab a dozen or so Half Full Dalaran Glass Wines. The cheese shop and bar will have plenty at their tables. Then, use these to toast with fine bubbly: such as a Glass of Aged Dalaran Red or the rare Glass of Peaked Dalaran

Once you've got the buzz, hop on over to Greatfather Winter and sip his Greatfather's Winter Ale. Gnomes will strictly drink Winter Veil Egg Nog instead, just because there are no elves to pick on. (Would-be Goblin rollers be forewarned!)

Now on to the main course. Grab a bucket of Red Hot Wings and Beer Baster Boar Ribs while watching noobs fall over themselves collecting the free gifts. Once that bores you--or the grilled goodies run out--get in on the gift-opening action. There's a Winter Veil Roast waiting for your efforts.

For dessert, the Winter Veil Cookies will crave any sweet tooth. Or if you're feeling giddy inside, pack them inside mooncloth bags and send off to low-level guildies. Just think of it as a way of giving back to the WoW community that has fattened our lives in more ways than our waists.

It's the next best pig out. Really.

Oh who am I kidding. Munch on those mincemeat pies and smile like a greench!

Who We Want In Warcraft Part 2

Woot! I’m back with part 2, porkers.

So anyway, some producer/screenwriter/big shot dude mentioned that the film will be all action and violence. To quote, “"We're definitely not going to make a G or a PG version of this. It's not PillowfightCraft."

Good point.

Although I don’t think there’s anything to object should they make PillowfightCraft happen―with female blood elves, of course. I mean, try to picture it…a group of gorgeous girls battling it out in the bedroom using light, feathery weapons in slow motion. IN HD. Hell yeah bro! (Note to the makers of Warcraft, if there’s any chance you stumble upon this post, we’d highly appreciate a spinoff with the said plot in mind, thanks)

Now, let’s start with my proposed female cast, shall we?

Angeline Jolie as Alexstrasza

For me, she’s an obvious choice. She’s been cast in various motherly roles yet she manages to get her Sexy on every single time. Yes, that’s with a capital S.

Emma Watson as Jaina Proudmoore

This Brit beauty’s been known to play smart cookie Hermione, is very ladylike (IRL too) and damn, she is really easy on the eyes.

Megan Fox as Tyrande

DUH. Her look is spot on. Seriously bro! Tyrande had to be created with Megan Fox in mind. Drop-dead gorgeous and dangerous, she’s perfect the way she is.

Snorting Away the Winter Blues

Hauling my bum past freezing roads last night got me thinking: How awesome would it be to turn into a real life tuskarr?

Homeward Bound. A human winter won't be a match against massive hair, tough skin and cold-resistant flabs. [Hat tip]

As a tuskarr, I’d spend the winter walking in the park with Pig in tow. I’d also play World of Warcraft in the freezing patio to make Northrend raids all the more authentic. The cold won’t be such a bother since my Tuskarr hide will act as a natural insulator similar to Pig’s layers of flab.

Plus a turtle mount for errand runs!

I must have looked like one of the crazies, smiling at the thought of a Tuskarr existence. But then reality set in: Not even a strict diet of bacon, fish oil and WoW Gold can turn me into an Azerothian walrus.

Don’t be SAD. Snort some snow!

When I told Pig about my Tuskarr obsession, he said I could just be suffering from a mild case of the SAD, which afflicts most gamers apparently, observes some brothers at the card gaming realms.

Real SAD. Depression symptoms include averseness to WoW Gold and faraway emo stares. [Hat tip]

Pig tried to cheer me up with a sprinkling of WoW Gold left over from Peter Porker’s winning bash. When even moolah didn’t cheer me up, my flabby friend sat down and said: “Dude, you’ll be fine. Come with me, we’ll snort some snow.”

While the narcs won’t approve of his turn of phrase, Pig just meant he’ll help me finish the Feast of Winter Veil activities and get the Merrymaker achievement. Leave it to a gangsta hog-in-training to give some danger to one of the most non-l33t events in WoW.

I’ve already done a couple of quests for Winter Veil, and I can see why Pig squeals so much about it. There are hilarious ironies like gnomes pretending to be Santas instead of elves and rescuing a captured reindeer for gift-giving slavery.

Still kinda wish I could be a Tuskarr, but snorting WoW snow isn't that bad of an upper. Just have to suck it up in bigger chunks, like a powerful hog snout. Tips anyone?

Bacon Roasting On An Open Fire…

Duuuude, roasted bacon is dee-vine. It’s pure heaven I can’t even begin to tell you.
That reminds me, Christmas is almost a week away. Man, that means I’m running out of time to master my oven-roasting skills!

Fortunately, that’s not the case with my Christmas shopping. I finally got around to doing it―online, of course. I admit I can’t brave the massive last-minute holiday shopping crowds. Yeah yeah, call me a wuss. At least I can take that.

So anyway, here are just some of the gifts I picked out for the dear carnivores in my life. This is essentially a bacon-centric gift guide (read: not for everyone).

To start off, these raw bacon magnets ($4.99) are a key addition to any meat lover’s fridge. Realistic, eh? Bonus points for helping you remember the groceries.

Save this sizzling bacon soy candle ($26) for a non-traditional candlelit dinner. It crackles and smells like bacon frying in a pan which, I’m guessing, should impress your lady friend.

For the number one accident-prone buddy, these bacon bandages ($3.50) are pretty damn thoughtful. Also a nice way of saying, “Merry Christmas, klutz.”

This handy bacon air freshener ($2.74) is great for masking that recurring locker room stench we are all too familiar with. Nothing like spicing up the air with the aromatic scent of bacon!

Feel like getting something on the fancy side? This bacon silk scarf ($57) will generate oohs and aahs. Shades of crimson red and carnation pink adorn this hand-painted beauty.

Who We Want In Warcraft Part 1

Please excuse us for being away for so long. My fellow piggies here needed time off to attend to personal business, a few did some holiday ~~hoarding~~ shopping while I caught a nasty case of the flu (thanks a LOT, Nick). Good thing I didn’t have to go to the hospital. I did, however, stay in bed for a couple of days. So off to movie marathon land I went.

There are tons of holiday movies that have made it to WoW Gold Pig’s ultimate movie marathon list. And then there are those that we’re including in advance. Warcraft, a potential blockbuster of a movie, is one of them.

So I IMDB-ed it and found that the projected release date is sometime in 2011. Twenty-eleven. TWENTY FRIGGIN ELEVEN.

Two years is a long time dammit. But with Sam Raimi taking the reins on this one, I have high hopes that the film is in mighty good hands. Who doesn’t think the Spiderman movie series kick serious ass?

Ok, going back to Warcraft. I must admit that I’m very particular when it comes to casting. So if I had it my way, here are the actors I would choose to play the following male characters:

Gerard Butler as Varian Wrynn

You’ve seen him as King Leonidas in 300 so he’s a great fit for the role. Dude, seriously, I bowed down to his impossibly defined eight-pack.

Jason Statham as Thrall

He’s got the appeal and built down, that’s for sure. Plus, he’s just plain intimidating even when he’s not in character.

Alexander Skarsgard as Arthas

Watch True Blood and you’ll see that he has that commanding, powerful presence needed to portray the fallen hero.

It began with eight aspiring piggies who—like hapless Alliance lowbies enlisting on the ruthless Illidan server—had no clue as to what kind of pain they were signing up for.

But after four grueling weeks that saw our fine porkers squeezing into skin-tight costumes and striking poses no pair of hamstrings should ever endure, Next Chop Model has found the loveliest ham of them all.

And as is the tradition from years past, Thighra Shanks ended the evening with an inspirational speech anointing Peter Porker as the “pit boy” of the 2010 spring-summer season.

"I am so proud of you," said an emotional Thighra, "because the piglet that burned my eyes with his fugly portfolio, has blossomed into a model.”

"You are a star. A bright, pudgy star with the lovely hue of a Sanrio kitty. You are the pit boy, the kind that will make heads—and noses—turn as you walk the dirt trails of Paris and Milan. You are truly special," said Thighra.

Winning Montage

As the crowd roared and a sea of WoW Gold poured into the hog pit where Peter Porker performed his celebratory muck-around-the-pen, a montage of his month-long journey played in the backdrop screens…

Week 1 : Peter’s portrayal of an undead piglet rising from the grave earned him a shriek or two from the judges—at how ghastly fabulous he looked despite the unflattering full-moon lighting and eye bag-enhancing make-up.

Week 2 : Drawing gritty inspiration from his troubled childhood on the wrong sign of Brooklyn pens, Peter painted himself a fitting black eye. In the words of Thighra: “He showed how maintaining the right attitude—and a great set of chops—can conquer any adversity.”

Week 3 : Peter dug himself into some rough patch during the final four when his rendition of the Swine King of Azeroth got mixed reviews from the judges. But lugging around authentic armor in the barren wastelands of Northrend gave him enough sympathy votes to push him into the finale.

Week 4 : The clincher week saw his final competitor Gordon Bleu pose as a WoW Gold baron basking in his goblin-protected bank vault. Despite the blinding display of gold by Gordon, Thighra rallied behind Peter due to his dashing turn as Cap’n Peter “Pigslop” Porker.

An Interview with the Teatcrest

Pentertainment News (P! News) host Ryan Teatcrest rushed on scene after the winner was announced, and got the lowdown on what’s in store for Peter Porker:

Ryan Teatcrest: Peter, Peter! What a finale that was. Was there any doubt in your head that the wig you chose was too ladylike? I mean, there’s such a fine line between pirate braids and reggae locks!

Peter Porker: You know Ryan, that dilemma troubled me for days. But I just relied on my guts—people always said this was my best part. And before I knew it, my shoot sizzled with the intensity of a Midwestern barbecue grill!

R: Patch 3.3 of Warcraft just went live and I hear Blizzlard is looking for new actors to promote it, similar to their campaign with T-Pain. Do you plan to have guestings or appearances in the numerous raids gunning for the Frozen Throne?

P: Funny you should mention that. My agent just called to say that Blizzlard has set up a meeting to discuss a possible part as the feast pig served after the defeat of Arthas. I’m excited to show off my graceful bellyflop pose and apple-munching dexterity.

R: Aren’t you afraid of the cold weather? Or worse, the sea of draenei paladins that will swoon over you during the filming at the Argent Crusade base camp?

P: I’m not worried one bit. Those cows can do with me whatever they want. It’s part of the gig to act as the beefiest bacon in town, and it can only help me to have such adoring fans.

With that final question, Peter Porker gave a quick strut on the runway and a classy snout goodbye to his fellow Chop Model Contestants. Next stop: Paris to spend his well-earned gold for the finest clothes a ham can have.

Let's just hope this includes some anti-barbecue gear for the coming Cataclysm.

After a short break, WoW Gold Pig's Next Chop Model is back and fiercer than ever! When we last left our porky chop models, Salami Hayek and Cassie Role were eliminated in a closely called World of Warcraft week. The young Peter Porker and suave Gordon Bleu are left to face off in the final competition week.

Thighra Shanks herself personally delivered this week's theme as best she could. That is, carrying a bucket of chicken and a mouth full of fries.

Thanks, Thighra. You can go back to the buffet now. Yes, really.

From what we can make out, this week's theme is totally appropriate - GOLD. WoW Gold? Who knows! But it's gold, we've got pigs and... you get the picture.

To be specific, our chop models need to show us their expression of the precious metal. Gold symbolizes glamour, riches, flair and other stuff. It's also the symbol for winners and champions - who will be ours?

What's that racket? Just before Gordon started his photoshoot, we heard the jingle-jangle of coins being trucked into the WoW Gold Pig HQ. When we entered, it was like seeing Uncle Scrooge's vault in real life.

One of our guys got injured trying to swim in the gold coins. Kids, don't try this at home.

I only uttered one word when I saw Porker; "Pimpin'!"

The bling on Gordon Bleu was amazing, it was blinding. Bling everywhere. Not pictured - his extensive golden grill work, enough to rival Lil Jon's.

Dude, dude, DUDE! Remember when I said I was sick? It wasn't any normal cold, I tell ya. I had a terrible flu and had to be taken to the hospital. It wasn't pleasant, that's for sure.

It got to a point where I imagined my blood was the cure for some futuristic disease and they were keeping me there as the source of the vaccine. I never want to see another needle again. My stay there was only worsened by visiting relatives who kept crying and saying that I had the swine flu.

No, Aunt Grace. For the last time, I am not going die. No, your kids can't have my Xbox 360 and PS3. No, you may not cremate yet, goddammit!

The porkers came in as a Night Elf, Illidan Stormrage, Jaina Proudmoore and the Lich King himself. Pigs and World of Warcraft in perfect harmony. Brings tears to my eyes every time.

But then, it's a Monday and two chop models have to leave the WoW Gold Pig mansion (we're working on it). Good night, sweet porkers.

...of Los Angeles, California, a lone dude set in motion the events that would forever change the history of the poultry dish in front of his eyes.

Yeah, I've got the sniffles. It's not swine flu. But I'm pretty sure I've got a fever. Chop Model fever, that is!

*ah-choo!* Oh wow. You wouldn't want to see what's on my monitor right now. Or you might. Lemme get a kleenex.

Where were we... oh right. It's the final day of World of Warcraft week on the Next Chop Model. Salami Hayek stalked the darkness as a Night Elf hunter while Gordon Blue asked us if we were prepared as Illidan Stormrage. And a good job they did at it.

Will our other two chop models be able to compete? Bring it on, piggies!

From the magical tower of Dalaran comes Cassie Role. Taking on the fearsome undead scourge, Cassie struts her stuff in a mage outfit, reminiscent of WoW Gold Pig favorite, Jaina Proudmoore. We really love her outfit. You could say that she cast a spell on us.

She also used the same spell to grill us some burgers. HUZZAH!

Brrrr! Now I know where I got the cold. The Swine King himself has descended the Icecrown Citadel and rain terror, death and... bacon? The detail of Peter Porker's armor shows how much he's put into this contest. Even the harsh climate in his photoshoot didn't make him flinch.

That was what greeted us when we showed up to Gordon Bleu's photoshoot without any food in hand. We were promptly hit by Eye Blasts and Flame Bursts.

For a moment, we were sure that the group was going to wipe - until we realized out that theonly thing that the Warglaives of Azzinoth that Gordon was carrying were pork chops.

We were not prepared.

World of Warcraft Week on the Next Chop Model - Part 1

It isn't a WoW Gold Pig contest if it doesn't have our beloved game, World of Warcraft, and Next Chop Model's host Thighra Shanks knows how to bring the love in this week's challenge.

Our four remaining porkers, Cassie, Peter, Salami and Gordon were left a bit somber after the elimination yesterday. They were downtrodden at how tough the Next Chop Model competition could be. It seemed like nothing would cheer them up.

One tub of chocolate chip and fudge brownie ice cream and five layers of deep fried bacon covered bacon lasagna wraps later and they were as enthusiastic as sharks in a feeding frenzy. Onto the mailbox then!

It's an unforgiving world, chop modeling. But as the saying goes, when the going gets tough, the tough start eating.

Or something. This week, Chize Berger and Davin Bacon got eliminated because they weren't bad enough dudes to take on the streets.

WoW Gold Pig's Next Chop Model - Week 2, Part 3

Pigs and paint. A good combination. I mean, if you're high on paint fumes and have a pew porkers handy (no worries, PETA. Those are pig-safe paints. They're made out of magic, or somethin').

Thighra started the week off with a tough Street Art challenge. Cassie, Gordon, Chize and Davin got off to a fierce start with their street painting skills.

You could say that the chop models are painting the town pink. What do Peter Porker and Salami Hayek have up their artistic sleeves?

Bring it on, piglets!

True to his namesake, Peter Porker is taking the 'Spiderman 3-emo' approch. Dark, brooding and roasted to perfection, this lil' piggie could probably make a Crow 5: The Lone Pig casting call.

Salami Hayek always had a way with her eyes. Take straight out of a mardi gras, Salami moves and grooves alongwith her bright pastels and back hair. Just don't tell her that she also has the same color scheme as the Macho Man Randy Savage OOOH YEAAAH.

And that's it for the week. The votes are in (Thighra's, actually) and next week sees another two piggies leaving the chop model mansion. Who will survive? Who will win the chop modelling contract? Who ate the whole meatloaf? We can only speculate.

A street art challenge? Me likey!

Each contest is given a few cans of paint, a blank wall and equipped only with their porcine creativity (did you know that pigs have some of the biggest brains in the animal kingdom?). I've always wondered how pigs would do as artists. I mean, yeah, they'd probably have difficulty painting and stuff. Maybe it's their upbringing or allergies to paint.

Awright, let's get this started. Cassie Role really worked it with her street at. It looks like she took an 80's/Jamaican color scheme with the neon colors and the green/yellow face paint. Keep on jammin'!

Look at those mad skillz! The savory Chize Berger really got down and dirty with this awesome semi-3D street art that goes well with her purple and pink ensemble. We caught her struggling to stay awake - she claims to have stayed up doing Quarter Pounder pushups.

Looking mighty fab in his stripe shirt and hat ensemble, Gordon Bleu strikes a pose in a Freddy Krueger costume. If I ever saw someone looking like that in my chair, I'd die of a heart attack (and no, not because of all the bacon I consume). One of the photographers tried to shake his hand - it wasn't pretty.

"Do I look okay to you?" snorted Haute Doug said in reply to the makeup artist's greeting. I dunno, it seems like Haute's got a splitting headache to me. Why don't you axe him yourself? Hahaha, I kill myself sometimes.

We first heard scratches from inside a coffin... and then a voice... "BRAAAAAAINS...." Peter Porker busts out of his undead prison and out into the world of modeling! Our staff was scared out of their wits for a good couple of minutes minutes until the cry for "BRAAAAAINS..." became "BABY BACK RIBSSsss...."

Salami Hayek invited us over for dinner, what a sweetheart. But we were puzzled as to why she wasn't in costume yet.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to be competing with the other chop models... hey, that smells good. What's for dinner?"

I had a feeling that she was going to say "you are," but I just had to ask.

With Halloween and Dia de los Muertos just missing us by a couple of days, this week's theme is about ghosts, ghouls, spirits all thing scary. Bring on the fierceness, chop models!

And with that, week one of the Next Chop Model begins... hauntingly.

The stage is set, the pigs are oiled and raring to go. The chop models went to work and got dressed up for this particularly spooky occasion. The piggies were given time to scavenge and work with what they could find in the haunted mansion. This is a test of their creativity and ingenuity in the midst of a hostile environment.

First up is Boarbie Cue, a country girl at heart, rump and choice cuts (seasoned to perfection). She's wearing an Oscar de la Groucha pumpkin couture which works well with her round figure. Just seeing her makes you think of one thing - pork and pumpkin stew. BRB, getting a bowl and spoon.

Zoiks! Cassie Role had us goin' for a minute there! Like a tortured soul, Cassie's blending in with the haunted mansion well. A little too well, if you ask me. When asked what the hard part was with her costume, she said "It's kinda hard to, y'know, eat and stuff when you're incorporeal and all. Everything just goes through you like you're a ghost!"

One of our male chop models, Chize Burger, was having some tummy problems when the challenge started (must be all those quarter pounders he's been downing). A few bumps and crashes were heard in the bathroom later and out he came looking like the ancient porcine pharaoh, Tutankhamburgar.

Like a shadow in the night, suave chop model Davin Bacon dons death's mantle and slices, dices and sautees the competition with his convincing rendition of the grim reaper. Although by the look of things (and the boxes of honey-raised donuts he's had during the shoot), maybe we should call him the 'Kreme Reaper.'

Four piggies strut their stuff in costume; what will the other four do to compete? Find out tomorrow!

Tricky Treats

Allow me to catch my breath for a second. Three…two…one. Okay, I’m back. Nice to be up and blogging again!

All of us here at WoW Gold Pig have been extremely busy celebrating National Pork Month, organizing the Next Chop Model Contest, and preparing for the Halloween festivities. But we are not in any way complaining.

I have actually volunteered to help out with food planning. No, I won’t be the food taster again. I mean, I’ll still be the food taster but I won’t just be that this time.

So anyway, I took to the net for inspiration and found some awesomely revolting food ideas whose appeal lies in the stomach-turning category. I’m not much of a cook but I’d give these recipes a try. A warning though, porkers. No kids stuff here.

Now this (they’re lemon cookies from hell) brings an all new meaning to finger foods. Finger-lickin’ good, eh?

What, little severed appendages too mild for ya? Try this bloody monster meatloaf hand instead.

Hmm maybe that’s still too safe. Why not have a go at something that has a freakin’ face? Chow with gusto as you rip the cheeks out of this sucker.

If that’s not enough to satiate your craving for ~~dismembered body parts~~ freaky but I’m-sure-they’ll-taste-good-or-at-least-I’m-hoping-they-would Halloween food, then maybe this panna cotta-like creation would do the trick.

WoW Battle.net Accounts and Patch 3.3 Stuff

Hey, I'm back and it's rockin'! I missed all you WoW Gold Pig fans and it's high time I got back into the groove.

Blizzard has been bugging everyone to switch to Battle.net accounts before November 11 and hey, why don't you? It's relatively painless and easy. You even get a unique penguin pet after merging your old WoW account into a Battle.net account. Battle.net accounts are statistically safer anyway, so there's no reason why you shouldn't. Got it?

While on my business trip, I managed to sneak in some quality WoW time at the hotel I was staying at. To be honest, I've never been on the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm (PTR), yet somehow, patch 3.3 has peaked my interest on what changes there are to WoW.

Maybe because it's Icecrown Citadel, where we'll face the Lich King himself. I've played through Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 and I'm a sucker for the whole Arthas/Lich King storyline.

(I even got the Arthas: Rise of the Lich King novel recently)

Anyway, I've been trawling the net for patch 3.3 news and whoa, mind = blown. A lot of changes, from the new raid icon UI, easier rep grinds, Icecrown dungeons and raids. You might wanna check out WoW.com's coverage of the stuff here: Patch 3.3 news

Can't wait to get into the new dungeons dude. Oh yeah, someone datamined the animations and found ***SPOILER ALERT*** an animation depicting the alleged death of the Lich King.

I'm not sure how to react to this, given that this is all just speculation, but what *if* he died and went away? Yeah, he's a real evil dude and all, but he's part of what made WoW so awesome. I'll have to reserve judgment on that until we have more concrete details.

So yeah, WoW. Gotta love it. Been doing a lot of heroics lately but I can't seem to get any gear on my Pally. I'll have to save up some emblems for a new tanking helm. What have you been up to?

In 18 days, you’ll find us here at WoW Gold Pig swallowed up in the gloriousness of eye candy. And real candy. And what the heck, all sorts of candy in between! Sweeeeeet.

Thanks to the ever reliable Google, we’ve found some celebrity babes in drool-worthy, lust-inducing costumes to remind us that Halloween is perfectly synonymous to the day Christmas came early.

All of us agree that we don’t have an all-time favorite girl costume but we do have our top picks. Like the Catholic school girl, for instance. We’ll let Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship explain that for us. And then there’s the naughty nurse. Who needs Dr. Feelgood when she can do the job a million times better? Oh let's not forget the French maid. Personally, I find her extremely sexy. Throw in that foreign accent and I...I w-will not be a-able t-to function properly. Whew, glad I recovered on that one.

Okay, I need to lay off on my imagination for a moment. You guys better watch this awesome compilation. Don't mind them dudes.

Happy October 8th y’all!

Boy oh boy, 22 more days to go until my second favorite holiday (Christmas and Thanksgiving are tied at first) officially begins. Thrilled to bacon bits!

I’ve been browsing costumes on the web lately, not because I’m planning on buying one for myself but because I’m trying to guess which of those excusably slutty outfits my volcanic hot college girl neighbor would show up in come trick or treat. Now I got ants in my pants! But no, I shall restrain myself. I’ll talk about costumes another time so hang on for that one.

Aside from the obvious such as urban legends and sweets, one more thing that I look forward to are the majorly awesome decorations. Haven’t seen much of them yet outside but I did stumble upon some cool pumpkin carvings online.

Speaking of pumpkins, Blizzard’s pumpkin-carving contest should start any day now. Diehards would know that it’s an annual tradition and 2009 marks its seventh year.

My pumpkin carving skills (fine, carving in general) are below average at best but if I could be Jack-O’-Lantern Extraordinaire for a day, I’d recreate Wrath of the Lich King.

Time for WoW Rehab?

Nope! Well… not yet.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m still your friendly neighborhood WoW newbie.

Unlike most of my mates here at WoW Gold Pig, I can assure you that I’m definitely far from developing an addiction. Long, long way to go, baby.

Though I must say, sometime last week I was driving home in a hurry because my folks were coming to visit (Ha! And you thought I couldn’t wait to log in) that I suddenly had a holy-crap-i-think-i-just-aggroed-the-cops moment. Also, at one point the WoW log in screen song became my constant LSS and I caught myself unconsciously humming it, fortunately. See? Not so bad.

I mean, I know of a few pigs (you know who you guys are) who have actually resorted to canceling a date just because their guild needs another for their raid and wasting WoW Gold for repair fees just wasn’t an option. Granted it was a first date, but still. Did I mention she looks like that Blair chick from Gossip Girl?

Anyway, the good news is that even if my hardcore hoggies are, well, hardcore, they would never shift to extremely obsessed mode forcing them to skip food and sleep, like this guy over here. Okay, so maybe sleep could remain an option but food is a MUST!

To those dudes who have adopted zombie lifestyles, it’s time you get help. And lucky for you, there’s a new WoW rehab facility to cure that sickness. Located in Fall City, Washington, ReSTART is a recovery center that specializes on video game and Internet addiction. As a residential treatment program, patients could spend 45 days without computer access, trading it for household chores, daily counseling sessions and weekly therapy.

October is WoW Gold Pig Month!

Hey-o! Whaddaya know? It's October, piggies! My hombres, this is a special month for WoW Gold Pig. October has the BEST FOOD HOLIDAYS EVER! Why, it's National Pork Month. Oh flying pigsticks, YEAH!

Just think of the all the pork we can stuff ourselves with - barbecued pork, pork rinds, pork fritters, pork chops, roasted pig, baby back ribs --- ohhhhh the possibilities are endless. This occassion calls for a celebration!

Pudding Season starts on October 1 as well.October 4 is National Vodka Day (and here I was thinking every day is vodka day).October 25 is National Greasy Foods Day (oh boy!) and October 28 is National Chocolate Day (sweet!). There tons of other food holidays this month and I bet you 1,000 WoW Gold that everyone is going to be 10 pounds heavier by the end of October.

A Post Out of Hunger

Wiping on the second boss of Heroic Violet Hold for the fourth time is a good indicator that you're in a terrible PUG. It's times like these when I start flailing around and eat anything my grubby hands can find.

Lo and behold, the only things I found edible were last night's Cheetos' crumbs and the receipt from Gamestop. Crestfallen, I do the next best thing -- browse good ol' This is why you're fat.

Ah yes, the site that is a painful reminder of why America is America. Don't get me wrong; what they have there are all gastronomical masterpieces. Today, this caught my feeding fancy:

Meet the Widowmaker

1.5 lbs of ground beef, 1 package of bacon, 1 package of italian sausage, 1 box of hot pockets, 1/2 package of fried onion strips between 2 Tombstone Pepperoni Pizzas topped with Velveta Cheese and Marinara Sauce.

I can just imagine how many widows this monstrosity has made. I for one would love to try it out.

Maybe my next HvH wouldn't go so bad if I had something like that fueling me. It's like food on steroids.

Wowing the WoW Girls Part 3

Hola amigos! If you have been following my WoW Girls tribute, then you know that this is the third and last part. And if you haven’t, then you better read up. You might learn a thing or two from my potentially foolproof dating tips.

Now you might be wondering…After Jaina and Alexstrasza, who’s next?

To wrap up the series, I am going for the one and only Sylvanas Windrunner, the Dark Lady herself.

If she were to be classified using real world stereotypes, she would most likely be lumped in the goth/emo girl category. Yes, the haunting red eyes, ghostly pale complexion and expertise in black magic may have helped. But underneath that exterior lies a heart burning with the fire of vengeance.

Just a little background, Sylvanas was a former high elf who transformed into an undead banshee under the hands of the enemy. The lost, tortured soul persona is not a façade. Sylvanas is the real deal.

So why her? Obviously, this is one ballsy pursuit but I’m not one to back out on a challenge (especially since all this is just a figment of my imagination). Actually, it may have something to do with the human fascination of the undead. But I believe that regardless, she has a dangerously sexy edge that leaves me begging for more.

I do think the girl needs to let loose though. You know, just have a genuine fun time─no killing involved. And what better way to break the ice and shake off the tension by bringing her to an outdoor rock concert?

A music festival date, anywhere from Lollapalooza to the Glasto, is perfection. She doesn’t even have to change clothes. The skimpier, the better is the general rule. In between sets we’d tour around the stalls, get inked (henna, of course) and chill with some ice cream.

The night wouldn’t be complete without me breaking into song once more. Incubus’ Echo might just be the trick to melt her blackened heart.

Dang it! Do I need a real date or what?

Wily Wednesdays: Have you done Onyxia?

No, not that way. What I mean to ask is 'have you tried the new Onyxia raid?' Well, the Pigs tried her tonight. Suffice to say, we got burninated. Toasted. Barbecued. Fricasseed.

Well done.

Oh, the memories are coming back. Tail Sweeps, Deep Breaths, frequent wipes - I got a taste of it once again. Maybe if the pigs consulted WoW.com's Onyxia guide, we wouldn't have coated Onyxia's floor with our piled corpses.

It was a very enjoyable fight, though. Props to Blizzard for bringing back the black dragon love.

The Broodmother Returns - Onyxia's Back, Baby!

Dude, have you heard? Good ol' Blizz surprised some of us today with the rollout of WoW Patch 3.2.2 and it's all awesome and stuff here at WoW Gold Pig.

I remember back in the day when Onyxia was a big deal back in vanilla WoW. Hoo boy, was she a fearsome boss. If you were part of an old Onyxia raid, you'd know how frantic it was just to get a group going and actually have them know the encounter.

You have to know where the melee should position themselves, where the tank should be, where the healers... y'know what? I'll just let this guy explain it to ya.

More DoTs! More DoTs! Always a fun watch. Oh, and I know that's technically not Onyxia in the pic above, it's Onyxia disguised as Lady Katrana Prestor. But c'mon, I think she's hot.

Meat Your Match, Chocolate!

Whenever us porkers get together for a WoW session, we also get ready to chow down. Well duh, that’s what pigs do.

But seriously, we do have piles of junk food stashed (chips, salsa, and Krispy Kremes are a staple) and I sneak a bite every now and then, perhaps more often than ~~I should~~ the others.

I’m a pretty adventurous eater with a taste for the unexpected so it wasn’t long ‘til I found about the existence of these one-of-a-kind venison chocolate truffles on the net. Venison, really? If you’re not sure what that is, it’s deer meat. Yep, deer.

The brainchild of New Zealand’s famed chocolatier Hanna Frederick, these mini sausage-shaped treats are an admittedly odd blend of dark chocolate and ground-up salty dried meat. Sounds like dinner and dessert in one, though of course, way less filling and calorie-consuming. Dude, where’s the fun in that???

On a side note, could this be every meat lover AND chocoholic’s dream? Maybe. But if you like the flavor of bittersweet chocolate and the aftertaste of salami, then this one’s for you.

Wowing the WoW Girls Part 2

As promised, here is the 2nd part of the series. As you might have probably guessed, it took some time for me to select which of the lovely ladies at WoW I’d be worshipping this week. So the rest of the piggies here lent me their hands, err, feet.

Contrary to popular belief, pigs are actually smart. (Babe, anyone?) And our WoW girl choice for this entry reflects just that.

Ready?

Behold Alexstrasza the Life-Binder. The Dragonqueen. Queen Of Life. She Who Is Life. Dayum!

She may be a thousand-year old dragoness (though she certainly doesn’t look the part), but I’d still hit it. Ahh the allure of the older woman.

With her fiery auburn crowning glory, barely there outfit and glowing golden eyes, I initially didn’t expect her to be this caring, motherly figure. She is very compassionate for a woman of power. If I may say so, the girl’s like a saint crossed with a modern day hippie. Except neither are as appealing.

What’s more, this blazin’ hot momma’s got lady lumps and curves that put Monica Bellucci to shame. And that’s definitely sayin’ something.

So for our first date, I was thinking candlelight dinner on the beach. The peaceful and relaxed atmosphere will make her feel right at home. See, I’ve always been a gentleman but I gotta up my game here. How? By pampering her senseless. Okay, that didn’t sound quite gentlemanly but you get my drift.

After dinner, we’ll have a nice romantic walk, stargaze a little and then head back for a mighty sensual spa session. I’d even spring for her manicure, pedicure and all those typical girly things. Sweet.

And to top it all off, I’ll be serenading her with Snow Patrol’s Signal Fire. “The perfect words never crossed my mind 'cause there was nothing in there but you…”

The Sandwich of the Future

Yes, America. The Sandwich of the Future has arrived. Our friends at KFC decided they would take a break from the healthier alternative route they’ve been experimenting on and stay true to their fast food roots. Thus, the no bread, two of everything sandwich. They sure outdid themselves with this one. Kudos!

Without further ado, feast your eyes on this monster of all monster burgers.

Now the Double Down may not be Top Chef-worthy and initial reactions have generally ranged from “disgusting” to “Why would anyone put this into their body?” but at the end of the day, who cares? When I have to pig out, oh I freakin’ go all out.

I don’t know about you but it looks muy delicioso to me. Just look at that baby. You got mouthwatering strips of bacon, Pepper Jack cheese, Swiss cheese, Colonel’s Sauce and two original recipe chicken fillets to seal the cholesterol-laden deal.

The question now is: Will they come in extra crispy?

Wowing the WoW Girls Part 1

Excuse me for the lack of a better title. I’ve been single for the past couple of months and surprise surprise, I haven’t exactly been playing the field. I’m not ready to get back into the dating scene just yet and no, this has nothing to do with my bruised ego or my rusty ladykiller skills.

I’ve just decided that dating someone in real life is pretty complicated. So allow me to indulge in my g-rated fantasies for a while. Hey, dudes can dream too. Shut up and just go with me on this one.

This will be the first part of a three-part series which also serves as a tribute of sorts to my favorite mind-blowing mamacitas in WoW.

First up, Jaina Proudmoore. AKA the girl with the noble last name. She may look like the girl next door but I’m telling you, she is the total embodiment of smexy. Girl’s got beauty, brains and uhh…a whole lot of other Bs.

Now let’s see, where should I take her out on a date?

For an educated blonde sophisticate like Jaina, a tour around the MET would be awesome. Nothing says culture and class than a museum date. We’ll be coasting along various art collections like the Arms and Armor department and the Costume Institute. Yep, that should take out the stuffiness. We’ll also have lunch at the MET steps to make things a little more casual.

And now for the one-track soundtrack. Not to be pretentious or anything but I consider myself a pretty decent singer. So what if my only exposure was on the karaoke stage during a major booze fest with my frat buddies? I got some serious pipes, man. By the end of the night, she’ll be beyond smitten by my rendition of Before It’s Too Late by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Or I could end up a roasted pig after she fancies casting a fireball on me. I’m also fine with that.

3 Myths about WoW Gold

You know that guy on the forums who goes on a tirade about how he hates WoW Gold and stuff? I can bet a double quarter pounder that you've encountered a couple in your travels in Azeroth and Northrend. They jabber on about it as a matter of fact, but is it really the truth?

Well, the Pigs are here to find out and debunk any myths, legends and hooha surrounding our favorite currency. Welcome to Mythbu- I mean, the WoW Gold Pig blog!

Myth #1: If you buy WoW Gold, you ruin the economy

World of Warcraft is an incredibly awesome game. I mean, it must be since we're totally addicted to it right? Part of what makes WoW awesome is how the game works. It lets you earn gold from different methods. One of these is the auction house which makes up a big part of this 'virtual economy.'

WoW's economy isn't as complicated as say, the United States' economy. It's a simple supply and demand thing. WoW Gold doesn't depreciate in value - it's just the sellers adjusting their prices according to the demand and the spending power of the buyers. This happens with or without WoW Gold being sold. Players can AND will find out ways to get more and more gold, and this means players will also find ways to increase their auction house prices.

So yeah, myth BUSTED.

Myth #2: Buying gold is cheating!

Cheating, eh? To answer this myth, let's first determine how gold is accumulated in-game through this step by step guide:

1. Play your toon and do quests, dailies and raids
2. Get gold from rewards and drops
3. ???
4. Profit!

Hmm... does that sound familiar?

Oh yeah, it's basically what EVERYONE does to earn gold in WoW! Fancy that.

When someone buys gold, they're just paying for the time that the farmer spent collecting it. It's a process that happens within the game's boundaries; from earning to transferring the gold.

There's really only one reason why people think it's cheating - because they feel threatened by others gaining the same amount of gold with their own resources. If you got all the time in the world to farm your gold, then go ahead. More power to you. If someone decided to use the money they worked hard to earn for some digital pixels in-game, then that's their choice.

Picture these 2 scenarios:

1. Newbie receives 1000 gold from a friend
2. Newbie buys 1000 gold from WoW Gold Pig

Look at it from a logical perspective - there is no difference. It's only when you put your emotions in the equation that you think you're being cheated.

Myth BUSTED!

Myth #3: Gold is obtained through compromised accounts and scams

Okay, this one is a doozy.

As with any barrel of apples, there's bound to be a few rotten dudes. In real life, there are smugglers, black markets, inside traders, medical malpractitioners and more.

WoW is no different. Because there is a viable and legitimate market, there are those who use use dastardly deeds to procure their wares and this is something that we are TOTALLY against.

I guess you can say this myth is plausible, but there are few things you can keep in mind to stop supporting these Chinese ripoffs.

Avoid any gold sellers that:

1. Spam in-game
2. Can't speak English
3. Ask for your freakin' password!

When people stop falling for the stupid Chinese tactics, these fraudsters will go out of business. Then everyone'll be happy!

Sweaty Nerds Invade Anaheim (BlizzCon)

Alright - I think it's safe to say that this following equation sums up how I feel about the announcements at BlizzCon:

Mind = Blown

There's just so much meat that I'm having trouble digesting all the information that Blizzard threw at us. Here I was, watching from the safety of my computer at home, popcorn in hand as a sea of sweaty geeks and nerds flooded the Anaheim Convention Center.

So what caught our attention?

Well, the biggest thing to come out is the confirmation of Cataclysm. MMO-Champion was spot-on with all the information a couple of weeks back. We've got goblins and worgen, Deathwing, the sundering of Azeroth, new race/class combinations, progression and more. If I tried to type all the changes in this blog post, I might cause a rip in the fabric of time and space. Seriously.

I'm totally pumped for the worgen. Half-man, half-wolf, all badass! This just might be the Alliance race for me. Check out the preview gameplay video below:

The transformation animation is totally pimp. I think I have this fascination with werewolves ever since I saw I Was a Teenage WereWolf...

Okay, maybe not, but it sure does make me wanna kick Edward Cullen's shiny white teeth in!

Don't get me wrong though - the goblins are equally as cool as their furry counterparts. You know why? Because they get a freakin' Hot Rod mount! They also have a utility belt that gives them rocket boost every 2 minutes and not to mention looking very, very green.

Then there's the Diablo III Monk class. I'm not the biggest Diablo fan, but seeing the trailer made me want the game BAD. I'd definitely want to hand out family-size beatdowns like the monk!

News on the Starcraft 2 front was scarce, but the idea of an 'app store' like service for Battle.net and SC2 maps sounded nice.

The BlizzCon of Ozz

So the Prince of Darkness will be rockin' BlizzCon 2009. I think Ozzy predicted this way back in "The Blizzard of Ozz." Soon, Ozzy and Arthas will be battling for the crown in a mix of hail, sleet, swords, guitars and slurred british accents. Man, that'd be awesome.

As long as it had subtitles.

Some of the Pigs are attending BlizzCon as hardcore fanboys, but this little piggie will stay home and sulk. And order the internet stream for the Grunty pet.

We've got lotsa tidbits from the big ol' Blizz these past few days. They be gettin' their newfangled Twitter accounts like @Warcraft, @Starcraft and @Diablo. As a self-proclaimed Twitter addict, you can bet your pork rinds that I'm following them on the WoWGoldPig Twitter.

Then there's the Cataclysm rumor, oh boy. I'm still waiting for Blizz to confirm this, or completely turn around and surprise us with a MURLOC expansion HELLS YEAH!

Hot on the trails of the growing rumor about the new WoW expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the new races are allegedly the Goblin for the Horde and Worgen for the Alliance (more on WoW.com)

Worgen.

WORGEN. Man, Worgen for the Alliance. The Alliance gets a badass werewolf race while the Horde gets little green men. What I would do to have a Worgen Death Knight. That's like a mess of death, fangs and fur all around you.

Speaking of wolves, here's one that I wouldn't mind. If we were the three little piggies, I wouldn't mind this she-wolf blowing on our house.

Oh man. I never knew how hard it was to type while laughing my head off. So a friend of mine showed me this site: WoWBash. Being the dilligent Pig that I am, I just ignored the link for a few hours.

After lunch, I decided to take a look at it.

And then my productivity went down the drain.

Holy pigsticks, there are TONS of user-submitted WoW chat screenshots that are downright hilarious. If I knew this site existed, I would've saved a few screenies of the WoW Gold Pig guild chat. I specially like the ones where couples send a mistell about their passionate WoW escapades.

Interview with Chris, Winner of 500k WoW Gold

We sat down over coffee (actually we just emailed) and interviewed Chris - the winner of the Name the Twitter Pig contest a while back.

He submitted the myth-tacular name 'Pigasus' and went to the bank with 500,000 World of Warcraft Gold. Let's learn more about him, shall we?

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your experiences with World of Warcraft – how long have you been playing? How many characters have you leveled? Are you in a guild? What do you enjoy most in-game... discovery, questing, crafting, raiding, guild events?

Well my name is Chris, I'm from central Florida, I have been playing MMO's for almost 6 years now, and i actually just started playing WoW a few months ago. I have a level 80 DK that is my main and i'm in the process of leveling a paladin for pvp. I am in a very friendly guild full of sci-fi nerds that are actually real-life friends and i fit in kind of well. What i enjoy most about WoW is raiding, getting new gear for myself or guildmates and i like that you can level by questing instead of a mindless grind like some other MMO's i have played.

2. ‘Pigasus’ is a very creative name, how did you come up with it, where did your inspiration come from?

It actually came to me almost instantly after seeing the pig with wings, i was always very interested in mythological creatures as a kid and i thought pigasus was a creative play on pegasus.

3. Have you thought about what you will do with all of your winnings?

Oh yea, i promised my guild that we will all be driving around on choppers if i win :P and i cant wait to get some really cool pets, mounts and much needed crafted ulduar items.

4. How often do you visit the WoW Gold Pig blog? What do you think of it?

Well since i entered the contest i have visited the wowgoldpig blog several times daily, and i like it, its good to see a funny post or a link to something that's gonna give me a laugh.

5. Do you have suggestions about future topics the blog should cover?

Well you guys do a pretty good job as it is, i dont know if i would change a thing ;P

6. What future contests / sponsorships would you like to see from the Pig?

Maybe a creative WoW comic contest, or original artwork. Maybe a cosplay video of warcraft plot characters lol, i think that would be funny.

7. Have you purchased World of Warcraft gold before? Why do you think RMT is so popular among players?

Yes i have purchased gold before, and i think RMT is popular among players, particularly older players that have 9-5 jobs as it keeps them on par with the kids that are raiding and farming nonstop all day. Some of us have kids or other responsibilities and cant spend all day on WoW.

8. How did you first learn about the Pig?

First learned about the pig one day after i decided i could use a little extra gold to help level up jewelcrafting, so i started searching on google for reliable gold sites, and after doing a little research one of the names that kept popping up was your guys site, i had never really bought online currency before but i figured what the hell, so i did, and about 15 minutes after i put the order in i had my gold. :P

A Letter to Megan Fox from the Pig

How are you doing? I know we haven't seen each other recently, with all the movies you're doing and me being a busy man... in Northrend. Even though we're apart, I think we both know that we share a bond that goes back ages.

Back in 2002, I first saw you in the Olsen twins' Holiday in the Sun on DVD. It was a magical moment. I suffered through 17 re-runs of Mary Kate and Ashley's movie just to get to know you better. I had to make sure that my roommate was asleep before firing up the player and replaying your scenes as Brianna Wallace. I remember it vividly like it was yesterday.

Oh wait, that *was* yesterday. But what's a few years' difference compared to our love?

I Tivo'd your TV guestings and tried to get as much pictures of you on the net. My devotion to you knows no bounds - not even pasta. I once built your likeness out of my mother's home-made lasagna. While it pales in comparison to your beauty, the fluidity of the grease represents your shimmering complexion, and your lovely hair is perfectly captured by the cheesy goodness.

Our relationship continued on the TV and the big screen... and in 2004, we took the next step in our quest for love - you starred alongside that LaBeouf dude in Transformers. You made my body feel things in place I never knew existed.

Optimus Prime also has that effect on me, but trust that I'll always "Transform and Roll Out" for you anytime, Megan-baby. Yes it doesn't make any sense to me either, but you have to admit, it sounds pretty darn cool.

You finally got your break and you became a star... A star that this little pig had a hard time reaching. We'd go without contact for days, months and years. You'd sometimes surprise me with a picture of Google Image Search once in a while, and who would forget those photos that were strangely devoid of clothes? Not that I'm complaining, of course.

Enter 2009 - Michale effin' Bay released this year's summer blockbuster; Robots and Explosions 2: Revenge of Megan Fox. While most of the movie didn't make sense, I just wish I was there with you instead of Shia the Beef.

Alas, it feels as if you were just another thing that this pig couldn't obtain. As I'm typing this out with tears in my eyes and cheetos on my fingers, please remember me.

Speaking of awesome, I was doing some dailies the other day and just hanging out in the World of Warcraft. One of our newer guildies was having trouble with his Paladin epic mount quest. Not only did it require him to go to some remote places, but it also cost a crapload of WoW Gold at level 60 (350 gold for the first test, expensive items, another batch of 150 gold, 120 gold, etc. - and that's after faction discounts).

Some of you in the crowd are probably snorting "But gold is easy to get if you have a level 80 and you do dailies, blah blah."

Our guildie is a newcomer to WoW. How can he normally have that amount of gold to blow, right?

Cranium, our resident Death Knight expert logged in and saw our newbie's problem. In the goodness of his heart, he just went over to our guildie and helped him through ALL of the Paladin epic mount quest. He shouldered all the WoW Gold costs and got our newbie a brand spanking new Paladin Charger and a nice Blood Knight tabard to boot.

It's just nice to see someone helping out a guildie without asking for anything in return. Our newbie Paladin was so happy, he could kiss Cranium. But that would be homogay. So he just flooded guild chat with praises for Cranium.

Now that's a great guildie if you asked me. Cranium's our guildmate of the month. Give him a round of applause, will ya?

Sharing the Love

I'm feelin' the love here. My bacon-covered heart's all a-flutter. Don't you just love it when you feel appreciated? All the hard work in the world is no match for a simple compliment.

Just a while ago, we got an email from one of our awesome customers. In it was a simple thank you to the Pigs.

China Bans Gold Farming.... NOT!

Early this month, InformationWeek published shocking news that "China Bans Gold Farming." Anti-RMT zealots and those who have too much free time rejoiced albeit short-lived.

The real deal is, that China didn't ban gold farming in any way. China only had this problem with QQ coins (virtual currency in China or whatever) and they didn't want the QQ coins to compete with their real currency. This is further reflected on the title change at InformationWeek's article because of how incorrect it was.
